  • Publication number: 20230215602
Abstract: Electrical cables and optical waveguides are disclosed as including an electrically insulative foam. The electrically insulative foam can coat at least one electrical conductor of the electrical cable. The electrically insulative foam can coat the optical fiber of the waveguide. The electrically insulative foam can also define a waveguide.

  • Publication number: 20220216581
Abstract: Radio frequency (RF) waveguides and related interconnect members are disclosed. The interconnect members can have a smaller footprint than WR15 flanges. Further, the interconnect members can be configured to mate with complementary interconnects without undergoing substantial relative rotation.

  • Publication number: 20210217542
Abstract: Electrical cables are disclosed can include at least one electrical conductor, an inner electrical insulator that surrounds the at least one electrical conductor, and an electrical shield disposed about the inner electrical insulator. The electrical cables can include an electrically conductive material disposed between adjacent layers of the electrical cable. In one example, an electrical coating can be disposed in the electrical shield, for instance, in regions of overlap. Flowable electrically conductive materials are also disclosed that can flow into gaps during operation of the electrical cable.

  • Patent number: 6651318
Abstract: A flexible interconnect cable is manufactured by a method that includes providing a core, and wrapping a conductive shield element about the core. An insulating sheath layer is extruded about the core to encompass the shield element, and a multi-wire cable component having ribbonized ends and detached intermediate portions is connected to an end of the core. The core is removed from the sheath to insert the cable component into the sheath. The resulting assembly has intermediate portions of the cable component that are loosely received within the shield and sheath.

Date of Patent: November 25, 2003
    Assignee: Ludlow Company LP

  • Publication number: 20020139561
Abstract: A cable assembly has a number of coaxial wires each having a central conductor and a surrounding shielding, and each having a first end and an opposed second end. The first ends of the wires are secured to each other in a flat ribbon portion in a first sequential arrangement, and the second ends of the wires are secured to each other in the same sequence as the first arrangement, with indicia identifying a selected wire in the sequence. The intermediate portions of the wires are detached from each other, and a sheath having a braided conductive shield loosely encompasses the wires, permitting significant flexibility of the cable.
