  • Patent number: 6044863
Abstract: A safety device against ruptures in gas pipes comprises a housing (11) with a cavity (12) and a plunger (13) movable to and fro in the cavity (12). The plunger (13) has parts (14, 15) in engagement with the wall of the cavity and two influencing surfaces (23, 24) of different sizes. The smaller influencing surface (23) communicates with a main pipe (25) from a gas source to a user. The larger influencing surface (24) communicates with a control pipe (28) from the main pipe (25) spaced from the device. The plunger (13) influences the gas flow in the main pipe (25) with its movement and/or indicates a pressure drop in the control pipe (28).

  • Patent number: 6007049
Abstract: An improved shutoff valve has an inverted stem/seat design with a removable cartridge including a stem designed to include a high performance polymer tip for use with a compressed fluid cylinder. The high performance polymer tip reduces the likelihood of damage to the valve seating area of the shutoff valve. The removable cartridge with the high performance polymer tip thereon makes replacement quick and easy should the soft tip become damaged. The inverted stem/seat design positions the stem and high performance polymer tip such that the pressurized gas acts in unison with the threaded stem tip in seating the stem rather than acting against the stem.

  • Patent number: 5375739
Abstract: In a control apparatus for measuring, mixing or regulating one or more liquids in some other way, the liquid or liquids is/are delivered to a vessel (1) through delivery pipes (3, 4). The vessel includes a container (2) having a spillway (8). Liquid which passes over the lid of the spillway is collected by a liquid-collecting device (9) connected to a container outlet valve (7) by means of an arm (12) which is subjected to the load of a spring (13). When the weight of the liquid collected in the device (9) exceeds the force exerted by the spring, the outlet valve will open. At the same time there is activated, for instance, a microswitch (17) which influences the supply of liquid through the delivery pipes (3, 4).

  • Patent number: 5224324
Abstract: A flexible package (7) for rescue equipment and specially adapted to be mounted on the exterior of a craft of submarine type, the package being compressible round its contents so that it will take up a minimum volume. The method of compressing the package is performed in a pressure vessel (1) containing fluid (5) in which the package is immersed. The package has a connection with a nonreturn valve (9) which is connected to a tube (8) communicating with the surrounding atmosphere. Pressurizing of the package takes place through a three way valve (4), when the air contained in the package is pressed out through the conduit. On evacuation of the pressure vessel the nonreturn valve will close and the compressed volume of the package will remain.
