  • Publication number: 20240034316
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for determining a deceleration setpoint value of an autonomous vehicle (204), the autonomous vehicle (204) comprising an adaptive cruise control capable of decelerating the autonomous vehicle according to a first deceleration setpoint (215), referred to as standard deceleration, the autonomous vehicle (204) traveling along a first lane (201) at a first speed, the vehicle heading into a second lane (202) subject to a speed limit (208) at a distance, D, relative to the beginning (203) of the second lane (202), said method comprising the steps wherein: —a necessary deceleration is calculated; —the deceleration setpoint of the autonomous vehicle (204) is determined; —the adaptive cruise control applies the deceleration setpoint thus determined in order to decelerate the autonomous vehicle (204) from the beginning (203) of the second lane (202).

  • Patent number: 11827218
Abstract: Disclosed is a method intended to regulate the speed of a vehicle with at least partially automated driving and knowing the radius of curvature of a future segment which it is about to take on its route. This method comprises a step (10-90) which involves regulating the speed of the vehicle in accordance with a speed setpoint and, in the event that a radius of curvature of the future segment representative of a bend is detected, determining a maximum transverse acceleration that the vehicle can undergo in the bend depending on the speed setpoint, then a maximum speed that the vehicle would have in the bend if it underwent this maximum transverse acceleration in the presence of the detected radius of curvature, then imposing a deceleration phase on the vehicle until a deceleration speed chosen as a function of this determined maximum speed is reached.

  • Patent number: 11383709
Abstract: A method is intended to regulate the speed of an at least partially automated vehicle traveling on a first traffic lane adjacent to a second traffic lane. This method comprises a step (10-80) in which, if a radius of curvature of a future portion representative of a bend is detected, a phase of deceleration to a first deceleration speed adapted to the radius of curvature is imposed on the first vehicle unless it is in the course of overtaking a second vehicle traveling in the second traffic lane, since in that case a current speed of the second vehicle is determined and then, if the first deceleration speed is less than this current speed, the first deceleration speed is replaced with a second deceleration speed greater than this current speed.

  • Patent number: 11220178
Abstract: A method is intended to regulate the speed of an at least partially self-driving vehicle, knowing the radius of curvature of a future position it is preparing to take on a course along which it is travelling. This method comprises a step (10-90) in which the speed is regulated as a function of a speed set point and, if a radius of curvature of the future position which is representative of a curve is detected, a phase of deceleration down to a chosen speed followed by a phase of acceleration until the speed setpoint is obtained are imposed on the vehicle. In this step (10-90), when the driver imposes acceleration on his vehicle during the deceleration phase, this deceleration phase is halted and then another phase of acceleration until the speed set point is obtained is imposed on the vehicle.
