  • Publication number: 20150191360
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for treating a hydrocarbon feed gas stream containing CO2 and H2S to recover a purified CO2 gas stream (vii), comprising: a. Separating said feed gas stream into a sweetened gas stream (i), and an acid gas stream (ii); b. Introducing stream (ii) into a Claus unit wherein an oxygen-rich stream is used as a combustive agent in the Claus furnace, thereby recovering a liquid stream of elemental sulfur (iii) and a tail gas stream (iv); c. Introducing the stream (iv) into a Tail Gas Treatment Unit (TGTU) thereby separating said tail gas stream into a CO2 enriched gas stream (v), and a stream enriched in sulfur compounds (vi); d. Compressing stream (v) exiting the TGTU; e. Passing the compressed CO2 enriched gas through a CO2 purification unit thereby recovering a purified CO2 gas stream (vii), and the device for carrying out said method.

  • Publication number: 20150147254
Abstract: A process for selectively removing hydrogen sulphide relative to carbon dioxide from a gaseous mixture containing at least hydrogen sulphide H2S and carbon dioxide CO2, includes a step of contacting the gaseous mixture with an absorbent solution including at least one amine, water, and at least one C2 to C4 thioalkanol. A use of the absorbent solution for selectively removing hydrogen sulphide relative to carbon dioxide from a gaseous mixture containing at least hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide, is disclosed. Disclosed is a use of at least one C2 to C4 thioalkanol as an additive in an absorbent solution including at least one amine, and water, for increasing the selectivity of the absorbent solution for the removal of hydrogen sulphide relative to carbon dioxide from a gaseous mixture containing at least hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide.

  • Publication number: 20150139877
Abstract: A process is disclosed for purifying a gaseous mixture containing acidic gases, such as a natural gas, including contacting the gaseous mixture with an absorbent solution including: from 35% to 45% by weight of at least one tertiary amine relative to the total weight of the absorbent solution; from 4% to 12% by weight of at least one activator relative to the total weight of the absorbent solution selected from the primary amines and the secondary amines, the total content of tertiary amine and activator being from 38% to 50% by weight relative to the total weight of the absorbent solution, and the total concentration of tertiary amine and activator being between 3.8 and 4.2 mol/L; from 17% to 25% by weight of at least one C2 to C4 thioalkanol relative to the total weight of the absorbent solution; and the remainder being water to reach 100% by weight.

  • Patent number: 8821615
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a process for treating a gas mixture containing carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide, including the following steps: deacidificating the gas mixture by bringing the gas mixture into contact with a first lean absorbent solution stream, delivering a deacidified gas mixture, and a first rich absorbent solution stream; regenerating the first rich absorbent solution stream, delivering the first lean absorbent solution stream and a sour gas stream; distillating the sour gas stream, delivering a first carbon-dioxide-rich stream and a hydrogen-sulphide-rich stream; purifying the first carbon-dioxide-rich stream by bringing the first carbon-dioxide-rich stream into contact with a second lean absorbent solution stream, delivering a second carbon-dioxide-rich stream and a second rich absorbent solution stream, the molar concentration of carbon dioxide in the second carbon-dioxide-rich stream being greater than the molar concentration of carbon dioxide in the first carbon-dioxide-rich stream.

  • Patent number: 8287626
Abstract: A method for treating a gas mixture containing acid gases, including: contacting the gas mixture with an absorbing solution, to obtain a de-acidified gas mixture and an absorbing solution with acid gases. To regenerate the absorbing solution with acid gases, the absorbing solution is passed into a first regenerator at a first pressure, then the solution is passed into a second regenerator at a second pressure, and finally to a third regenerator at a third pressure, the third pressure being less than the second pressure which is less than the first pressure. The gases from the second and third regenerator are compressed and recycled to the first and second regenerator, respectively. Gases from the second and/or the third regenerator are drawn off to provide a gas mixture rich in hydrogen sulfide. Gases from the first regenerator are drawn off to provide a gas mixture rich in carbon dioxide.
