  • Patent number: 10196649
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of increasing the resistance to one or more pathogens, preferably fungal or bacterial pathogens, in a monocotyledonous or dicotyledonous plant or a part of a plant, for example in an organ, tissue, a cell or a part of a plant cell, for example in an organelle, wherein a DNA sequence which codes for YODA protein or wherein an endogenous DNA sequence which codes for a YODA protein is increased in the plant or plant cell in comparison with the original, or wild-type, plant. The invention also relates to plants, to parts of a plant, for example an organ, tissue, a cell or a part of a plant cell, for example an organelle, which are obtained by the above methods, and to the corresponding propagation material.

  • Patent number: 7711383
Abstract: A method and system for assigning priority to a talk group of a plurality of talk groups in a communication network (100) is provided. The method includes detecting (304) activity on a first talk group (108) via a Vehicular Repeater (VR) (106). The first talk group is associated with a lower priority than that of a second talk group (110). The method also comprises assigning (306) a higher priority to the first talk group and the lower priority to the second talk group, based on the step of detecting. Further, the method comprises dynamically re-assigning (308) the higher priority and the lower priority amongst the plurality of talk groups, based on detecting activity.

Inventors: Joseph C. Namm, David R. Mills, John J. Nauful, Clara Sanchez, Jeff D. Smith, Donald R. Griffis
  • Patent number: 7711319
Abstract: A system (100) and method (200) for providing a multiple channel site for supporting talk group activity is provided. The method includes determining (202) an arrival time (141) of a plurality of Vehicular Repeater System (VRS) (101-103) to a vicinity (140), identifying (204) talk group activity among the plurality of PSUs (171-176) in the vicinity, and assigning VRSs to talk groups in order of arrival time and talk group activity. A master VRS maintains and updates (322) a list of recently active talk groups (TG), orders (324) the list by frequency of use of a talk group, forwards the list to slave VRSs and PSUs, and allocates (326) single channels in view of the list to the slave VRSs. PSUs in the vicinity can read the assignment list and update their communication channel based on a selected talk group in the list.

  • Patent number: 7689165
Abstract: A method and system for communicating within a wireless communication network (200) is provided. The communication between Portable Subscriber Units (PSUs) (104 and 106) by using a Vehicular Repeater (110) over a conventional communication link (102) is attempted (404). If the conventional communication link attempt fails (406), the communication is initiated directly from one PSU (104) to at least one other PSU (106) by using a direct channel link (202).
