Patent number: 11093998Abstract: A method for facilitating mobile ordering includes associating a merchant handle with a merchant. A user account including a handle is created for a user within an ordering system. A product order, having order details, is received. The product order is stored and is associated with an order code such that the order details are retrievable based on reception of the order code. An enrollment message is provided to the handle. A message including the order code is received from the handle directed to the merchant handle. The handle is associated with the merchant handle and the order code to identify the product order, the merchant, and the user. An order confirmation message is including order details is provided to the handle. A user confirmation message is received from the handle. The product order is communicated to the merchant and an order status message to the handle.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2020Date of Patent: August 17, 2021Assignee: FIRST DATA CORPORATIONInventor: Clarence Williams

Patent number: 9002372Abstract: Mentally challenged persons such as autistic children and Alzheimer's patients can become lost and they are hard to find because they have difficulty communicating or they are confused and disoriented. The present invention provides an apparatus, system and methods for locating lost persons (or animals or packages) whether they are indoors or outdoors. The apparatus comprises a cellular telephone unit which can be activated by a RF signal and which a child or patient can wear. The wearable unit can be activated by a caregiver's smart phone having a locating application installed therein. The locating application enables the caregiver to locate the lost person using radio direction finder triangulation when the lost person is within a few hundred feet of the caregiver. When the lost person is further away, the locating application employs cell phone tower triangulation or the wearable unit GPS/Assisted GPS application to determine an approximate location of the lost person.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2012Date of Patent: April 7, 2015Assignee: Danielle's Buddy, Inc.Inventors: Walter Jeffrey Shakespeare, Clarence William Crompton, Lawrence P. Levitt, Sharone Vaknin, Phillip William Wallace

Patent number: 8719287Abstract: A computer readable storage medium includes executable instructions to receive a request for an action. An action context is received where the action context includes an application requesting the action. A set of metadata is searched for metadata corresponding to the action, where the search is limited by the action context. Selected metadata for the action is inserted into a collection. The selected metadata is a result of searching the set of metadata. The selected metadata includes a reference to the set of executable instructions that implements the action and a description of the action. The collection is then returned.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2007Date of Patent: May 6, 2014Assignee: Business Objects Software LimitedInventors: Michael Robert Chatfield, Bonnie Yuk-Yee Cheng, Kevin Kyle Venkiteswaran, Clarence William Stad

Patent number: 8049364Abstract: A substantially uninterruptible backup power system to provide power to common household appliances comprises a rechargeable battery, a trickle-charging circuit to keep the battery fully charged at all times from the receptacle power, a DC to AC inverter to supply standard AC line voltage from the battery to the lamp, a relay switch, controlled by main power voltage, to switch to the backup system when main power fails, and a timing circuit to optimize a voltage output of the system based on current battery voltage and a desired time period for the voltage output. The system can be set to operate only when the appliance is turned on, which optimizes the current and power required to provide backup power to the appliance for a maximum period of time.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2008Date of Patent: November 1, 2011Assignee: Electrikus, Inc.Inventors: Walter Jeffrey Shakespeare, Clarence William Crompton

Patent number: 6412510Abstract: A wellhead safety valve control system for opening and closing subsurface and surface safety valves in a predetermined sequence and certain components used with such control system. Dump valves in both latching and non-latching configurations are utilized within the control system. Embodiments of the dump valve may incorporate a time delay feature to ensure the subsurface safety valve is closed after a desired time period following the closure of the surface safety valve in the event of flowline anomalies. Provision is made for independent closure of the surface safety valve without closure of the subsurface safety valve.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2000Date of Patent: July 2, 2002Assignee: Barber Industries, Inc.Inventor: Clarence William Johnson

Patent number: 6053711Abstract: Pump to supply fluid to at least two circuits in a control system for a production well. Each of the circuits is maintained at different pressures. The pump provides fluid to a plurality of poppets that are opened or closed depending on the positions of a cam surface which controls the position of the poppet. A pressure relief valve is used to prohibit fluid from entering a circuit unless the pressure exceeds the pressure of the fluid in the control circuit. The cam surfaces are controlled by a knob rotatable by an operator. By rotating the knob, the poppets can be opened or closed so as to provide fluid sequentially to each of the circuits and pressurize each circuit individually.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1997Date of Patent: April 25, 2000Assignee: Barber Industries Inc.Inventor: Clarence William Johnson

Patent number: 6015134Abstract: An actuator used to close and open a shut-in valve of a flowline. An indicator rod is threadedly connected to a connector which, in turn, is threadedly connected to the valve stem of the shut-in valve. A compression spring extends between a diaphragm plate and the bottom of the actuator. The shut-in valve is opened by pneumatic pressure above the diaphragm and the compression spring closes the shut-in valve by moving the valve stem when the pneumatic pressure above the diaphragm is exhausted to the atmosphere. The actuator including the compression spring may be disconnected from the bonnet on which the actuator is attached by rotating the indicator rod and removing the attachment bolts between the actuator and the attachment flange. The connector will be left on the valve stem.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1993Date of Patent: January 18, 2000Assignee: Barber Industries Inc.Inventor: Clarence William Johnson

Patent number: 5971353Abstract: Dump/stop valve to regulate the time delay between the closure of a surface controlled subsurface safety valve and a surface controlled surface valve. Fluid is applied to a first cavity above a pilot plunger which maintains the subsurface safety valve in an open configuration. In the event the surface safety valve is intended to be closed, the fluid within the first cavity is bled off by a control circuit which immediately closes the surface safety valve. The pilot plunger responds by allowing the subsurface safety valve to be closed a predetermined and consistent time period thereafter.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1997Date of Patent: October 26, 1999Assignee: Barber Industries, Inc.Inventor: Clarence William Johnson

Patent number: 5806237Abstract: A rodent bait station includes an enclosure having an inclined passageway leading from an opening in the enclosure to an elevated bait receptacle having a removable tray with a handle. The inclined passageway terminates at the lowest elevation of the opening to prevent water from becoming trapped in the enclosure. A separate internal receptacle is provided in the enclosure for storing and protecting printed materials, e.g., maintenance records. A replaceable latch on the enclosure includes an alignment member disposed between a pair of engagement members which engage cooperative slots and which are deformable to unengaged positions by a key that wedges between the engagement members and the alignment member.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1996Date of Patent: September 15, 1998Assignee: Ecolab Inc.Inventors: Thomas Dean Nelson, Douglas Grinnell Anderson, James Brian Easley, Kenneth Vern Schomburg, Robert Lee Dietz, Terry Leland Elichuk, Daniel Leroy Lobstein, Clarence William Snedeker
