  • Publication number: 20040129369
Abstract: A process for installing a shrink sleeve [101] on an asymmetric article [103] comprises placing the shrink sleeve over the article and supporting the sleeved article in an orientation so that the portion of film [321] which will result in the greatest shrinkage is in the lowest vertical position and the longitudinal axis of the article forms an angle of less than 90 degrees with the horizontal. The process reduces wrinkling of high-shrinkage areas of asymmetrical articles such as liquid containers with pour spouts.

  • Publication number: 20030108698
Abstract: A shrink sleeve [101] for a contoured article [103] is made of a preferentially orientated shrink film [102]. The sleeve comprises a contoured side seam [104] defining a contoured shape portion similar to the shape of the contoured article. The contoured shape of the sleeve allows use of lower ratio shrink films and reduces distortion of printing 101F in the contoured shape portion of the sleeve.
