  • Patent number: 4918475
Abstract: An apparatus is provided which includes a camera with an attachment for spectrally distributing light from a scene to be photographed, in order that the dominant spectrally distributed light color or colors of the scene or a part of it may be observed, and then photographed, as by using a selected filter. Spectral distribution of the light from the scene is achieved by a spectroscope such as a prism or a diffraction grating supported so as to receive light from the scene, preferably light which has passed through the viewfinder and lens in a single lens reflex camera. The spectroscope is supported by and from the camera, as by a support which engages the flash shoe of the camera, or is a clamp and which is preferably adjustable. The camera may be used in conjunction with a microscope.A method is provided for aligning the prism and forming the lens system of the camera, including directing a laser beam through the prism and through the viewing and focussing lens system of the camera.

  • Patent number: 4851900
Abstract: An electronic filter system for electronically placing a filter on the screen of a video display monitor. A video signal after prescribed processing is fed into an arrangement of four switches. The first switch is operatively connected to three transistors, and through the second, third and fourth switches, to three potentiometers. When the various transistors conduct, they each produce an output signal that is fed to the input of a conventional color video display monitor having three primary color guns. The signals from the three transistors are fed to each of the primary color guns in order to produce varying images on the display monitor. The second, third and fourth switches provide a convenient way for selectively controlling the activation of the green, red and blue guns of the display monitor. Several different sources of video signals for introduction into the inventive circuitry are contemplated.

  • Patent number: 4805990
Abstract: A hand-held prism and support structure, in which a positioning element is engageable with the head of a viewer for orientation and manipulation to position the prism as to enable the viewer to receive refracted light from a scene which is in advance of the viewer. The prism has an upper face and a pair of depending and converging faces, the positioning element being engageable with the nose of the viewer. A filter strip comprising different color filters is provided in advance of the prism and one eye of the viewer, there being a prism without a filter in advance of the other eye.A method of color photography includes viewing a refracted and, optionally, color-filtered image of a scene, and photographing the scene using color sensitive film and, optionally, a color filter.

  • Patent number: 4754297
Abstract: A camera is provided with a color filter in the light path immediately in front of the film. Preferably, the camera is of the type having a film strip movable from a supply reel to a take-up reel, and the color filter is in the form of a strip of filters of different colors, carried by a pair of spaced reels mounted in the camera for movement of the filter strip in front of the film strip. An indicator is provided for indicating the color of the filter in position in the light path in the camera.

  • Patent number: 4718757
Abstract: Image-enhancement is achieved by the use of instant color film. Such film has a predetermined development time, and after exposure of one print, it is developed and then development is stopped, usually before the normal development time. Another exposure is made on a second film of the same type, such as another print from the same film pack, and development is stopped after a different time. At least one of the prints is developed for a time less than the normal development time of the film. The resulting prints are of different colors, and are viewed together.

  • Patent number: 4714334
Abstract: A method is provided for producing a photographic image in color of a continuous tone, e.g., black and white object, such as a black and white photograph or an X-ray. Instant color film of the type having emulsions developed in timed sequence after exposure to a developer, and a separable sheet carrying the developer is used. The object is exposed onto the film, the developer is activated, and the developer sheet is separated, perferably prior to development of all of the emulsions. The resulting color photographic image may be reproduced.
