  • Patent number: 10875691
Abstract: A new and improved cable tie includes a core cable tie having a multi-slot head and a set of attachments that are not integrally formed with the core cable tie. A user can combine one or more attachments with a core cable tie to form a cable tie assembly. As such, a core cable tie can be modified with one or more attachments that are specific to a desired capability or configuration. This results in improved strength and cost savings in that the same core cable tie can be used for multiple applications. The user only adds attachments, such as finger or hand pulls, based on the needs of a specific situation.

  • Publication number: 20090284192
Abstract: A high voltage, low current electric motor. The motor comprises a drive shaft turned by a sprocket that is driven by an assembly of electromagnets. A carrier supporting permanent magnets travels in a tubular track formed into an endless loop around the sprocket. The carrier preferably comprises a chain formed of interconnected links, each link housing a magnet. The tubular track is non-ferrous and forms a core for a plurality of coils spaced around the tube. A sequencing circuit in the motor sequentially energizes the coils to cause the carrier to circulate around the tube by repelling and attracting the magnets. Teeth on the sprocket engage the chain so that as the chain travels through the tube the sprocket is rotated. Preferably, the coils are double-wound so that a direction control circuit may be included to selectively reverse the direction of the carrier's travel. Speed control also may be included.

  • Patent number: 7582982
Abstract: A wind generator comprising omni directional wind vanes as the source of mechanical energy. The generator comprises an inner and outer rotor, each rotor supporting a plurality of radially extending vanes. The vanes are configured to have a front side that captures wind and a back side that deflects wind. All the vanes on the inner rotor are oriented with their front sides facing in the same direction, and all the vanes on the outer rotor or oppositely oriented. In this way, the inner and outer rotors spin in opposite directions in response to a wind from any direction. Permanent magnets are mounted on the inner shaft to rotate with the inner rotor, and corresponding oppositely-oriented permanent magnets are supported on the outer shafts. Coils, connectable to a load, are mounted between the oppositely orbiting magnets. As the inner and outer rotors spin, the magnets intermittently energize the coils.

  • Patent number: 6938155
Abstract: A system and method for providing multiple virtual private networks from a computer system. The computer system communicates with a remote computer system in order to allow encrypted data traffic to flow between the respective systems. Two phases are used to authenticate the computer systems to one another. During the first phase, digital certificates or pre-shared keys are used to authenticate the computer systems. A phase 1 ID rules list contains authentication rules for local-remote computer pairs. During the second phase, a hash value is used to authenticate the computer systems and a security association payload is created. The remote system's IP address is used for connecting. The phase 1 ID rules list corresponds to one or more phase 2 ID rules lists. If the remote ID is not found in the phase 2 ID rules list, a default rule is used based upon the phase 1 ID rules list.

  • Patent number: 6891294
Abstract: An electric motor for a motor vehicle or other machine. The motor includes a support member with electromagnets (coils) and a moving member with permanent magnets. The coils are divided into groups, each group having several sets of coils, each set having several coil units. Each coil has its own battery or other energy source. A drive circuit controls activation of the coils. At maximum power, all coils sets are energized together. At each lower power level, different groups of coil sets are operated, and a cycling circuit varies which of the groups are energized. In this way, energy drain on the batteries is evenly distributed, maximizing the operating time of the motor before recharging of the batteries is required. In one embodiment, the coils are turned on by SCRs, and transistors turn off the SCRs, providing a novel SCR turnoff circuit ideal for high voltage, low current applications.

  • Patent number: 6879887
Abstract: In an aircraft flight instrument display system having a display screen for displaying flight information, an airspeed indicator is displayed in a vertical tape format, and has a low speed range indicator with a low speed range identified on the airspeed indicator by highlighting the low speed range, and has at least a settable indicator within the low speed range indicating a critical airspeed. The low speed range indicator and the critical airspeed indicator are both set with only manual inputs.

  • Patent number: 6823462
Abstract: A method, network system and computer program product for establishing a server node in a virtual private network with a single tunnel definition and a single security policy for a plurality of tunnels associated with a group name. In one embodiment, a method comprises the step of configuring a group database in the server node. The group database in the server node comprises the group name and a list of members associated with the group name. The method further comprises configuring a rules database in the server node. The rules database associates the group name with a particular security policy. The method further comprises configuring a tunnel definition database in the server node. In the tunnel definition database, the remote ID is defined as the group name. In another embodiment of the present invention, the list of members associated with the group name comprises a non-contiguous list of ID types.
