  • Patent number: 5259153
Abstract: An insect trap utilizes an electrically energized light for luring the insects to a trapping device and powers the light from a solar or artificial light powered electric source. The electric source comprises an array of photo-voltaic cells, a rechargeable battery which in the presence of light is caused to be charged and in the absence of light is caused to be discharged.

Date of Patent: November 9, 1993
Inventors: Billy B. Olive, Clarence O. Williams
  • Patent number: 5044112
Abstract: A flea trap uses an electrical receptacle mounted night-type lamp as a light source for attracting the fleas and means providing a sticky landing surface adjacent the source for trapping the fleas.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4979329
Abstract: An insect trap utilizes a self-contained, gradually decaying, radiant light source which is continuously operative independent of any combustible fuel or electrical energy supply and means to position the light source near a trapping device for trapping insects attracted to the light source.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 8, 1990
Date of Patent: December 25, 1990
Inventors: Billy B. Olive, Clarence O. Williams

  • Patent number: 4700506
Abstract: A flea trap comprises a flat, shallow rectangular pan adapted for resting on the floor, flypaper or other sticky substance confined in the pan for trapping the fleas, a rectangular light reflecting cover, wire formed leg members adapted to resiliently grasp selected edges of the pan and support the cover over the pan, and an electrically energized green light source suspended from the light reflecting underside of the cover so as to lure fleas to the pan by means of both reflected green light and directly radiated green light.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 26, 1985
Date of Patent: October 20, 1987
    Assignee: Happy Jack, Inc.

  • Patent number: 4686789
Abstract: An insect trap, particularly suited to trapping fleas, comprises a flat, shallow rectangular pan adapted for resting on the floor, flypaper or other sticky substance confined in the pan for trapping the insects, a rectangular light reflecting cover, wire-formed leg members adapted to resiliently grasp selected edges of the pan in fixed positions and support the cover over the pan, and an electrically energized light source suspended from the light reflecting underside of the cover so as to lure insects to the pan by means of both reflected light and directly radiated light. The color of light seen by the insect may be modified by changing the color of the cover, the light source or the reflective surface.

  • Patent number: 4485984
Abstract: An improved creel useful for reeling and storing materials such as pile fabrics is formed from two spaced end assemblies connected by a tubular member. Each end assembly comprises a high-strength, relatively-flat, box-like structure which is folded from a prescored cardboard blank. Suitable hook strips are fixedly secured to the end assemblies to receive the convolutions of material. The box-like structure is also adapted to other applications utilizing strips without hooks.
