  • Patent number: 4337015
Abstract: A parking stand means for use as a strut between the ground and an elevated portion of a tractor-dismounted implement which has also an associated part resting on the ground so that the strut and a portion of the implement form a triangular support for the implement. The strut is carried by the implement for uphill and downhill sliding between retracted and supporting or park positions and is also connected in such manner that it can swing forwardly toward the implement for retracted position and rearwardly to its park position. A pin is provided for selectively locking the support in either position. A further feature is a device for preventing rearward swinging of the support until it has traveled downhill through a predetermined range.

  • Patent number: 4234130
Abstract: A hydraulically operated conveying mechanism for a manure spreader composed of a fore-and-aft shiftable floor extension that is supported on a fixed floor of the spreader box and a transverse vertical push-off supported to shift fore-and-aft on the extension. First and second hydraulic cylinders are used to shift the floor extension and push-off respectively and includes a first cylinder and associated rod with the latter being composed of inner and outer concentric tubes closed at their respective ends and with the inner tube opening into the closed end of the cylinder. The outer tube has a port opening into the cylinder. The second double-acting cylinder that operates the push-off has its opposite ends in fluid communication with the inner tube and outer tubes. A shuttle valve within the main cylinder shifts axially to close the port as fluid is introduced to the closed end of the main cylinder and opens the port as the rod approaches its fully extended position.

  • Patent number: 4220280
Abstract: A manure spreader having an upwardly opening box-like structure with a beater mechanism at its open rear end through which material may be reduced and thrown from that end. The conveying mechanism provided in the box-like structure for moving materials to the rear beater mechanism is composed of a fore-and-aft shiftable floor extension that is supported on a fixed floor of the box-like structure. The floor extension carries a transverse vertical push-off wall supported to shift fore-and-aft on the extension. In a fully extended position, the floor extension is at the front end of the spreader box and the push-off wall is on the front end of the extension. Manure or material in the box is pushed into the beater mechanism through hydraulic power which first shifts the floor extension rearwardly and in overlying rear position with respect to the fixed floor so that the rear edge of the floor extension is closely adjacent the beater mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4196859
Abstract: A material unloader having a conveyor and a distributing unit includes a control assembly operative from the tractor or towing vehicle by a single hydraulic control. A jaw clutch is provided for engaging and disengaging the distributing unit drive and the power shaft. A variable speed pulley assembly is operable to engage and disengage the conveyor drive and power shaft and to vary the speed of the conveyor over a wide range of values. The jaw clutch and variable speed pulley assembly are simultaneously controlled by a cam operated shifter assembly. The cam is mounted on a control shaft along with a pawl and ratchet mechanism indexed by a hydraulic cylinder to sequentially establish various combinations of conveyor and distributing unit drive conditions, including a condition wherein the distributing unit is disengaged and the conveyor is operating at a relatively high speed for fast cleanout of the unloader.
