  • Publication number: 20240112328
Abstract: A method can include receiving image data characterizing a viewed object acquired via an image sensor of a visual inspection system and providing the image data in a display. The method can include receiving a first directional movement input via a directional input device of the visual inspection system and applying a first set of actuator drive signals to a plurality of actuators of the visual inspection system. The method can further include applying a coordinate transformation to the image data to generate transformed image data and receiving a second directional movement input via the directional input device. The method can also include applying a second set of actuator drive signals to the plurality of actuators. The second set of actuator drive signals can cause points on the viewed object to move in the first direction on the display. Related systems performing the method are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20230367445
Abstract: A method, a system, and computer program product for rendering a visual representation of a target object using a selection of a first position on the surface of the target object. A reference surface is determined based on selected positions on the surface of the target object. A graphical object overlaying the visual representation of the target object is rendered. A location of the graphical object in the graphical user interface is based on the reference surface. The graphical object has a perimeter including the perimeter positions. A perimeter position of the perimeter positions is mapped to a second point on a three-dimensional representation of the target object. A distance between a first point and a second point on the three-dimensional representation of the target object is less than or equal to a second distance. The first point on the three-dimensional representation is associated with the first position.

  • Patent number: 11308343
Abstract: A method and device for automatically identifying a point of interest in a depth measurement on a viewed object using a video inspection device is disclosed. The video inspect device determines the three-dimensional coordinates in a region of interest on the viewed object and analyzes those surface points to determine the desired measurement application (e.g., determining the deepest point, the highest point, or the clearance between two surfaces). Based on the desired measurement application, the video inspection device automatically identifies the point of interest on the viewed object and places a cursor at that location.

  • Publication number: 20220108435
Abstract: Data is received which can characterize a two-dimensional image and a set of three-dimensional surface points. The two-dimensional image can characterize at least a tip of a blade and a portion of a shroud, and the three-dimensional surface points can characterize the tip of the blade and the portion of the shroud. A first location of an edge of the blade and a second location of a surface of the shroud can be determined based on the data. A distance between the first location of the edge of the blade and the second location of the surface of the shroud can be determined based on the data. The distance can be provided. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

  • Patent number: 7564626
Abstract: Two stereo images are created by splitting a single image into two images using a field of view dividing splitter. The two images can be displayed side by side so that they can be viewed directly using stereopticon technology, heads-up display, or other 3-D display technology, or they can be separated for individual eye viewing. The two images focus on one imager such that the right image appears on the right side of the monitor and the left image appears on the left side of the monitor. The view of the images is aimed to converge at a given object distance such that the views overlap 100% at the object distance. Measurement is done with at least one onscreen cursor.
