  • Patent number: 9357834
Abstract: A cosmetic applicator brush having a twisted wire core and an array of thermoplastic bristles with free tips extending radially outwardly from the core, wherein at least some of the bristles have shapes and/or surface textures modified at one or more localities between their free tips and the core by selective irradiation of the aforesaid locality or localities with laser energy. A method of making the brush includes the steps of assembling the core and bristles to form a brush, trimming the bristles to achieve a desired brush profile, and selectively irradiating at least some of the bristles with a laser beam at localities between the bristle tips and the core.

  • Patent number: 6293721
Abstract: A pronged carrier for a cosmetic pomade is provided for use in a cosmetic dispenser such as a lipstick dispenser. The pomade carrier is made of a platform with at least two spikelike blades that project from the surface of the platform. The blades have two blade members and, in a preferred arrangement, one blade member is disposed adjacent to the peripheral edge of the platform and the second blade member is angled toward the center of the platform. When a pomade is placed onto the carrier, the cooperative action of the blade members of the blades secure the pomade on the carrier.

  • Patent number: 4795059
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for continuous delivery of a liquid from individual liquid holding containers to a common discharge outlet. A bulk package is adapted to removably store a plurality of sealed liquid containers in predetermined positions within the package. The top surface of the package defines a plurality of openings for exposing the tops of the individual containers stored within the package. A removable lid includes a plurality of sharp discharge outlets or hollow spikes corresponding in number and disposed in alignment with the openings defined on the top surface of the package. The sharp discharge outlets extend from the lower surface of the lid, and are employed to puncture the openings in the individual containers stored within the package. The lid itself defines a hollow chamber providing a reservoir for receiving the flow of liquid from the individual containers.
