    Abstract: This invention relates to a aqueous phosphate pigment dispersion usable for sugar or film coating tablets and the like, comprising like pigment particles, a polymeric colloid, a phosphate viscosity lowering agent which permits a higher concentration of pigment particles in the pigment suspension, and an aqueous solvent. A typical pigment suspension comprises FD&C pigment, a natural gum as the polymeric colloid, a polyphosphate as the viscosity lowering agent and water as the aqueous solvent.
