Abstract: A mail editing system and method create an icons database, which is capable of storing at least an emotion data, wherein, the emotion data consists of an emotion, an emotion code, and an emotion meaning; next, establishes a relation between the recipient of the attached emotion data and the emotion meaning of the emotion data, and based on the relation, creates a corresponding relation table of icons; then, based on the recipient of the attached emotion data of an electronic mail edited by the sender of the mail, looks up in the created relation table of icons in order to obtain the emotion meaning corresponding to the recipient of the attached emotion data; at last, based on the obtained emotion meaning, acquires the emotion and emotion code corresponding to the emotion meaning from the icons database and then adds both the emotion and the emotion code to the electronic mail.

Abstract: A Value Added Services (VAS) system of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and a method for providing the same which are applied in a wireless mobile communication device are proposed for allowing a user to use a plurality of VAS provided by a wireless mobile communication provider through the wireless mobile communication device. A WLAN receives and confirms a connecting information outputted from the wireless mobile communication device by the user, then the WLAN outputs a connection-permission information to a workstation after being connected to the wireless mobile communication device, and the workstation provides a plurality of VAS to the user through the WLAN. Therefore, the wireless mobile communication provider can autonomously customize and manage the VAS in accordance with the practical requirements of the user, so that the network resources can be used more effectively.

Abstract: A sound control system and method applicable to an electronic device having a timing unit. A setting module is provided to set predetermined conditions and corresponding sound volume parameters. A time session control module retrieves the sound volume parameter corresponding to a present condition obtained by the timing unit. Then, a corresponding sound output signal to be outputted by a speaker unit connected to the sound control system is set via a sound effects module according to the sound volume parameter and a sound signal around the electronic device that is received and recognized by a sound recognition module. By such arrangement, the sound control system and method allow the electronic device to provide the user with optimal sound effects depending on the environment and the user's preferences.

Abstract: A simulation game system and a Geographical Information System (GIS) are associated to provide realistic game backgrounds in real-time. The game background generating process includes performing overlay computing on vector layer data, grid layer data and background objects to create more realistic game backgrounds. Geographical information provided by the Geographical Information System assist the player in deciding the adequate game strategies to be adopted.
