Abstract: A replaceable filtered soffit ventilator including a bracket dimensioned to line an opening in the soffit of a roof, a replaceable filter frame secured within the bracket and dimensioned to be coextensive with the opening, a porous filter media secured within the frame between a wire mesh retainer and a compressible loop to permit the free flow of air through the soffit while restricting the access of insects and dirt thereto.

Abstract: A roof ridge ventilator for the roof of a building having a shingled roof. The ventilator is formed substantially of zinc metal and has a longitudinally extending series of closely spaced drain hole punchings in the baffles thereof which are constructed and arranged to achieve flow of a substantially uniform sheet of a biostatic ionic solution of zinc across the shingled roof from opposite sides of the ventilator during rain, dew or melting snow conditions. Such a washing of the shingles prevents and retards fungus and bacterial growth which defaces the shingles.

Abstract: A ridge ventilator for the roof of a building includes a porous, non-woven and fiberous filter medium selectively installed in the ventilator to prevent inadvertent infiltration of moisture through the ventilator into the space below the roof. The filter medium is retained in operative position engaged against louvered panels, outer side walls and at least portions of the top wall of the ventilator. The thickness of the filter medium preferably is greater than the height of the outer side walls so that the filter medium is frictionally retained in its operative position. The filter medium has a density gradient through its thickness with the most dense portion of the medium being arranged adjacent the louvered openings. In operative position, the filter medium will trap or filter moisture from air entering the ventilator from ambient atmosphere and yet, will permit exhausting of air through the ventilator to ambient atmosphere.
