    Abstract: An apparatus for use in augmenting the separation of oil and water flowing comingled in a stream having a conduit through which the stream of comingled water and oil passes, an assembly of nodules formed of catalytic metal alloy, the nodules being generally cylindrical and having longitudinal notches on the external cylindrical surfaces and the nodules being arranged in subassemblies, each subassembly being formed of three nodules affixed to each other in a layer such that a longitudinal notch of each nodule mates with a longitudinal notch of the other two nodules to provide a central opening through the subassembly, and a central axial shaft received within the central opening retaining a plurality of the subassemblies. The complete assembly is positioned within the conduit so as to be engaged by the water and oil flowing therethrough. Each nodules being formed of an alloy of copper, zinc, nickel, lead and tin which augments the separation of the oil and water.

    Abstract: A gas anchor is attached to the lower end of a downhole pump located downhole in a borehole so that fluid must flow from the lower borehole, into the gas anchor, to the suction of the pump, and to the surface of the ground. The gas anchor has a metal rod located within an outer housing. An annulus is formed between the housing interior and the outer surface of the rod. Both the housing and rod are made of a special alloy. The housing has a multiplicity of ports formed therein. Formation fluid located in the bottom of the borehole flows through the ports, into the housing, along the annulus between the housing and the rod, and into the pump intake. This action subjects the formation fluid to treatment prior to the fluid entering the pump suction.

    Abstract: Fuel for an internal combustion engine is treated by flowing the fuel into intimate contact with a crystalline metal alloy that includes copper, zinc, nickel, lead, tin, iron, antimony sulfur, and manganese all in a specific range of percentage composition. The fuel can be any hydrocarbon including diesel, regular gasoline, low lead gasoline, aviation fuel, propane and butane. The crystalline metal is essentially non-sacrificial and will last hundreds of thousands of miles under ordinary conditions of usage. The crystalline metal alloy is contained within a housing through which fuel flows, whereby the fuel is placed in intimate contact with the surface area of the crystalline metal alloy, causing significant reduced pollution and increased mileage.
