Abstract: Method for producing a flame, particularly for coloured flame lamps using a small liquid flow at the upper end of a rising tube (4) of small transverse cross-section, the method consisting in allowing combustible gas in the form of a sequence of bubbles to pass into a bubble chamber (3) placed at the lower end of the rising tube, the gas bubbles (13, 17) having a cross-section at least equal to the transverse cross-section of the rising tube and in igniting and letting the mixture of combustible gas and liquid burn at said upper end of the rising tube. The liquid may contain a chemical compound chosen for the colour it can impart to the flames.

Abstract: A detonator includes a casing having a metal wall attached to a metal endplate, the endplate being penetrated by at least two electrodes. At least one electrode is electrically insulated from the endplate by an insulating material. The casing includes a molded plastics material surrounding at least the endplate and a portion of the electrodes.

Abstract: A pyrotechnic trigger includes a pyrotechnic substance disposed inside a recess provided in a housing made of plastic. The recess has a cylindrical wall having at least one window of reduced thickness forming a single piece with the wall. The housing is designed to break when the pyrotechnic substance is triggered.

Abstract: An illuminating pyrotechnic composition comprising a stable inorganic combustion-supporting agent, a nitrated carbohydrate as a high energy binder, at least one non-volatile organic combustible compound whose combustion is exothermic overall and, optionally, a metallic constituent. Such a composition is readily ignitable and combustible and is particularly useful in block form in a signal flare or firework.
