  • Patent number: 8252371
Abstract: The invention involves the treatment of a hollow body having a difficult-to-access surface to be preserved from corrosion by injecting a cellular foam supporting an anti-corrosion agent into the hollow body. Also involved is the production of a metal structure by assembling the structure and then applying an anti-corrosion treatment to the difficult-to-access surfaces of the structure. The invention is particularly applicable to railway wagons.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 8, 2006
Date of Patent: August 28, 2012
Assignee: Societe Nationale des Chemins de fer Francais
    Inventors: Thierry Guenard, Jean-Claude Boulanger
  • Publication number: 20110021648
Abstract: The foam comprises a mixture of silica, a polyorganosiloxane resin and a polyorganosiloxane hardener, added with a thermal insulator and an adhesion agent. The thermal insulator is ammonium polyphosphate. The foam is well appropriate as a filling and partitioning product in railway applications.

  • Publication number: 20080199608
Abstract: The invention involves the treatment of a hollow body having a difficult-to-access surface (18) to be preserved from corrosion by injecting a cellular foam supporting an anti-corrosion agent into the hollow body. Also involved is the production of a metal structure (10) by assembling the structure (10) and then applying an anti-corrosion treatment to the difficult-to-access surfaces (18) of the structure (10). The invention is particularly applicable to railway wagons.

  • Patent number: 5560876
Abstract: A process for producing strong, essentially dust-free agglomerates from dust created by an industrial operation carried out, for example, on an ore or mineral, e.g. during the thermal conversion of a material containing predominantly gibbsite to sub-alpha alumina by a multistage thermal process having at least one intermediate stage. The process comprises grinding particles of binder material containing undercalcined alumina to a median particle size of less than 30 microns and to a specific surface area in the range of 90-300 m.sup.2 /g; combining about 1-4 parts by weight of the dust with one part by weight of the ground binder material to form combined solids; mixing the combined solids with water to produce agglomerates, the total amount of added water being about 0.8-1.2 parts by weight for every part by weight of the ground binder material, plus about 0.08 to 0.

  • Patent number: 5016299
Abstract: An emergency evacuation harness, such as is used for evacuating immobile patients, or similar persons, comprises a bottom harness member for positioning beneath a mattress with longitudinally extending straps extending from one end. In use the longitudinal straps are brought over the mattress, with fastening members on the straps engaging with attachment members on the sides of the bottom harness member. In one form the bottom member is in the form of transverse and longitudinal straps. In a further form the bottom harness member can form part of a structure enclosing a mattress, a preferred arrangement being of the form in which the bottom member is composed of transverse and longitudinal straps extending to form transverse and longitudinal loops enclosing the mattress.

  • Patent number: 4130743
Abstract: The invention relates to terminal equipment for a carrier current multiplex system with a half echo-suppressor and a channel modem. The attenuator which is inserted in the transmission chain is disposed after a first modulation stage, thereby taking advantage of the propagation time of the filters of the modem to reduce the apparent reaction of the attenuator.

  • Patent number: 3969585
Abstract: Multiplexer for telephone transmission coupling the calling channels containing supervisory information which are not premodulated to the premodulated conversation channels which contain the voice information, modulating the coupled channels to bring the conversation signals into the multiplex group and using a single extra modulation of the whole spectrum obtained after modulation of the coupled channels to re-position correctly the calling signals in the multiplex group.
