  • Patent number: 5530344
Abstract: The encoder element (8) for a rolling-contact bearing equipped with an information sensor assembly is rendered integral with a rotating race of the bearing and interacts with a sensor of the said information sensor assembly in order to detect the speed of rotation of the bearing. It comprises an annular target (13) made of ferromagnetic material provided with a cylindrical bearing surface (13a) for mounting on the rotating race of the bearing and with a flat disc-shaped radial part (13b) with windows (13c) or slots of identical size and uniformly distributed along the circular path, and an axially magnetized bipolar ring (14) provided with axial crenellations (14b) which are uniformly and circumferentially distributed and which penetrate axially into the said windows or slots in the target.

  • Patent number: 5503480
Abstract: The sealing device (8) for the passage of a fluid between a rotating race and a non-rotating race of a bearing each penetrated by channels (6, 7) for the passage of the fluid, comprises a one-piece annular central body (9) of elastic material having a circular shoulder (10) for fixing to one of the races (1), and two main sealing lips (12) which mutually form an annular intermediate chamber (13) and which are in friction contact with the other race (2). The central body (9) is penetrated by at least one channel (15) communicating with the channels (6) of the race associated with the circular fixing shoulder, and also with the intermediate chamber, which communicates with the channels (7) of the other race, so that the fluid introduced into the channels of one of the races of the bearing passes through the central body in a leaktight manner and exits through the channels of the other race.

  • Patent number: 5484213
Abstract: The rolling-contact bearing comprises a rotating race and a non-rotating race through each of which there pass ducts (6, 7) for passage of fluid, rolling elements (3) between the rotating and non-rotating races, and a sealing device (8) fitted between the rotating and non-rotating races in order to form a leaktight intermediate chamber (14) communicating with the ducts (6, 7) for the passage of fluid. The intermediate chamber has two flexible walls (11) of which the free end parts form two sealing lips (12) in frictional contact with a contact surface (13) of one of the races (2) of the bearing. The frictional contact surfaces (13) are inclined with respect to the axis (XX') of rotation of the bearing. The flexible walls (11) extend substantially parallel to the contact surfaces so that the contact pressure between the sealing lips and the surfaces varies in the same direction as the pressure of the fluid in the intermediate chamber (14) of the sealing device.

  • Patent number: 5293124
Abstract: Device for sensing the rotational speed of a rotating element (4) mounted by means of a roller bearing on a non-rotating element (3), comprising a multipolar ring (17) which is integral with the rotating element, a sensor (19) which is made integral with the non-rotating element, and a magnetic flux concentrating means arranged in the immediate vicinity of the multipolar ring and cooperating with the sensor in order to concentrate and channel the magnetic flux emitted by the multipolar ring. The flux concentrating means is of annular shape and comprises at least a first end shield (24) having a radial part of which one circular edge is provided on its circumference with a sealing lip (25) intended for coming into contact directly or indirectly with the rotating element (4), and a second end shield (26) provided with radial teeth (27) spaced regularly along a circular path.
