Abstract: Compounds of the formula: ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is hydrogen, optionally halogenated alkyl, optionally halogenated cycloalkyl, optionally halogenated alkenyl, optionally halogenated aralkenyl or aryloxyalkenyl mono or bicyclic aryl (optionally substituted by halogen, alkyl, trifluoromethyl, nitro, cyano, amino, hydroxyl, alkoxy, aminosulphonyl or alkylcarbonyloxy), or monocyclic or bicyclic heterocyclic of 5-11 chain members and having one or two hetero-atoms (optionally substituted), and R.sub.2 is a carboxylic acid group or a salt or ester thereof, is found to have plant growth regulating activity.

Abstract: Compounds having an effect on modifying the physiology of plants in various ways have the formula ##STR1## wherein R is H, alkyl, halogenated alkyl, cycloalkyl, naphthyl, phenyl or halogenated phenyl, and R is preferably alkyl of 2-5 carbons, naphthyl, phenyl or chlorinated phenyl.

Abstract: Compounds corresponding to the general formula: ##STR1## in which R represents hydrogen, an alkyl radical, a halogenated alkyl radical, a cycloalkyl radical, an optionally substituted aryl radical, an optionally substituted aralkyl radical, an acyl radical, aroyl radical or an optionally substituted heterocycle;R.sub.3 represents hydrogen, aralkyl radical containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms;R.sub.2 represents hydrogen, an alkyl radical (optionally halogenated or substituted by a hydroxyl), a formyl radical, an acyl radical, a carbamoyl radical monosubstituted or disubstituted on the nitrogen;R and R.sub.2 cannot both represent hydrogen;X represents oxygen or sulphur, and their salts, especially their sulphonium salts. Such compounds are useful for modifying the growth of plants.
