  • Patent number: 6345737
Abstract: A dispenser device for dispensing a single dose of liquid, the device comprising: a cylinder (4) containing said dose of liquid; a piston (10) which slides in sealed manner in said cylinder (4) between a storage position in which it isolates said cylinder and an actuated position; a piston actuator member (3); and an outlet passage (5) for connecting said cylinder (4) to an outlet orifice (6); the device being characterized in that said piston (10) includes a through-passage (11) which is closed in sealed manner in the storage position of the piston (10) by a closure member (20), said closure member being designed to open said through-passage (11) under the effect of a predetermined pressure which is created inside the cylinder (4), so as to enable said dose of liquid to be expelled through said through-passage (11).

  • Patent number: 6282715
Abstract: A user terminal exchanges information with a server through a transmission medium. A coupling unit couples the user terminal to the transmission medium in accordance with information from the server. Likewise, the server is controlled in accordance with information from the user terminal. In this manner, communication is created and performed between the server and the user terminal. The user terminal may be a Set-Top Unit which may be adjusted to the transmission medium by, for example, a physical medium converter or the communication itself between the Set-Top Unit and the server may be adjusted as directed by programs installed in the Set-Top Unit which may originate from the server.

  • Patent number: 6221054
Abstract: A device for dispensing fluid products having a dispensing member (1), such as a pump, mounted on a container (2), and an actuating member (3), such as a thruster, for dispensing the product. The device has two reservoirs of products (10, 20) arranged such that they are successively emptied, the product contained in the second reservoir (20) being dispensed only when the first reservoir (10) is empty, characterized in that the first reservoir (10) is fixed to the body of the dispensing member (1) or to a support piece (9) of the body, and extends to the bottom of the container at least partially inside the second reservoir (20).

  • Patent number: 4439720
Abstract: An electrical alternator system is capable of being driven by either of two prime movers and of being automatically transferred therebetween without substantial variation in the electrical output of the alternator. A planetary gear system having two mechanical drive inputs and one output is interposed between the normally used prime mover and an alternator. One mechanical input to the planetary gear system is provided with a controlled variable speed input N.sub.R from the prime mover which is controlled so as to compensate for speed variations in the other mechanically input N.sub.E from the prime mover thus maintaining the output speed N.sub.S substantially equal to a desired reference speed N.sub.O.

  • Patent number: 4225962
Abstract: A mosaic printer is made secure from unauthorized interception of data by falsifying the needle drive pulse current magnitude and sequence so that electromagnetic leakage radiation cannot be used to determine the alphanumeric data being printed. This falsification is accomplished by a compensation device having compensators energized each print cycle in addition to the printer needle drives in a reciprocal or a pseudorandom manner. The compensators have current consumption characteristics nominally identical to the needle drives and produce substantially identical radiation pulses, making it impossible to correlate the radiated pulse format with the symbol being printed.
