  • Patent number: 6936172
Abstract: A water treatment system which comprises a reverse osmosis device having a fluid inlet, a permeate outlet and a concentrate outlet with a pump to pump a fluid through the reverse osmosis device, and a magnetic treatment device situated upstream of the fluid inlet, and filter means arranged to filter fluid from the concentrate outlet prior to recycling the fluid upstream of the magnetic treatment device. When a plurality of passes, the system reduces membrane fouling as the crystal structure of the precipitate is changed to reduce the amount of calcite to a deposit which precipitates mostly as aragonite.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 24, 2003
Date of Patent: August 30, 2005

  • Patent number: 6621276
Abstract: A cable termination assembly for testing the quality of insulation surrounding a power cable has one termination design to fit a large range of cable constructions, does not require different insulation shield cut-back distances, provides a secure electrical connection, and is environmentally friendly. A cable grip assembly is attached to an exposed conductor. The bottom outer surface of an inner cup is attached to the inner bottom surface of an outer cup wherein the inner cup is fully contained in the outer cup. When the two cups are attached, the cable grip assembly is mateably connected into the top of the inner cup and the outer cup is filled with a high dielectric strength liquid covering the inner cup and the cable grip assembly. After the high dielectric strength liquid has been added, a voltage is applied and the partial voltage discharge of the power cable is measured.

  • Patent number: 5434895
Abstract: A detection and inspection of cracks (135) on the internal surface of the adapter (2) is carried out, at least in a zone close to the weld for fastening the adapter (2), using remote inspection operations comprising at least one dye penetration inspection with remote borescope examination of the cracks (135) revealed by the dye penetration. At least one excavation cavity (136) is made by machining to a specified depth of the internal surface of the adapter (2) having a crack (135). As a function of the result of the dye penetration inspection, the zone is or is not built back up after excavation. The device comprises an assembly for moving a rod in translation and in rotation inside the adapter. Brushing, cleaning, or sprinkling means may be fastened to the end of the rod. The device also includes a second assembly for moving a borescope support inside the adapter and tooling for machining the internal surface of the adapter.
