Heat applied to the small quantity of hydride in the reactor generates hydrogen which is extracted and retained in a storage chamber for feeding to an engine, with the spent hydride being pumped away and fresh hydride being pumped into the reactor to maintain a continuous source of supply of hydrogen therein during operation of the system.
