  • Patent number: 11370153
Abstract: A method for forming a fiber-reinforced cable tie includes placing at least one reinforcing fiber in a mold cavity, injecting a molten material in the mold cavity, wherein the molten material defines a melt front during injection, and maintaining a position of the reinforcing fiber within the mold cavity at the melt front during the injecting of the melt, whereby the fiber is substantially encapsulated by the molten material. A mold for forming a fiber-reinforced cable tie includes a mold cavity and a fiber guide movably supported within the mold cavity for maintaining a position of a reinforcing fiber placed within the mold cavity during injection of a molten material into the mold cavity.

  • Patent number: 5915736
Abstract: A one piece integrally formed liquid tight connection or "whip" assembly for electrically interconnecting electrical appliances, such as air conditioning units, hot tubs, swimming pools and outdoor lighting fixtures, to one another and/or to a power source junction box or control box. The connection assembly includes a flexible tubular conduit, preferably constructed from a composite of full rigid PVC and flexible plasticized PVC, having first and second end portions and an outer surface with a plurality of surface irregularities. A pair of end fittings are integrally attached to the first and second end portions of the tubular conduit, respectively, using either a solvent welding or temperature welding technique. When using the solvent technique, the plurality of surface irregularities operate to hold additional localized amounts of solvent which further reacts with the plastic in the end fittings and conduit to yield a superior weld.

  • Patent number: 5904260
Abstract: An electrical outlet box assembly including an outlet box and a lid. The outlet box generally includes a base, an outer wall parametrically bounding the base and extending upwardly therefrom forming a box interior, the outer wall having an upper and lower end, the upper end forming a lip which defines an opening to the box interior. The assembly further includes a lid. The lid has a closed position such that when the lid is in the closed position the opening to the box interior is partially covered forming a receptacle opening having a size substantially similar to an opening of a standard size outlet box. The lid further includes an open position such that when the lid is in the open position, the opening to the box interior is entirely uncovered thereby permitting unrestricted access into the outlet box interior.

  • Patent number: 5831213
Abstract: An electrical junction box assembly for accommodating an electrical cable inserted therein. The assembly includes a junction box and a cable clamp. The junction box includes a back wall and a side wall which perimetrically extends from the back wall to define an open end opposite the back wall. The junction box further includes a cable entry opening in the side wall for permitting insertion of the cable thereinto. The back wall further includes a cable clamp mount positioned adjacent the cable entry opening. The cable clamp mount has a clamp insertion surface positioned substantially orthogonal to the cable entry opening. The clamp insertion surface defines a cable clamp insertion aperture into which the cable clamp is manually removably insertable. The cable clamp includes a deflectable cable engagement arm spaced adjacent from the cable entry opening of the side wall of the junction box.

  • Patent number: 5126510
Abstract: A thermal protector housing, for use in mounting an electrical thermal protector on a surface of a device to be protected against undue temperature rise, comprises a housing body of insulating material with an open end for receiving a thermal protector to be housed in it, a stop within a body limiting the distance the protector can be inserted and a securing member for securing a thermal protector between the open end and the stop, which securing member comprises a flexible finger portion of an exterior surface of the housing body.

  • Patent number: 4591658
Abstract: An attachment for an electrical outlet box, junction box, or similar receptacle is swiftly, manually engageable in an opening of the outlet box. The attachment is inexpensively formed, preferably of a thermoplastic material, and is of a design lending itself to manufacture by the extrusion process to further reduce the cost of making it. The attachment may be of single or double form, and typically includes a resiliently flexible clamping leg one end of which is integrally formed with a mounting means readily engageable in the mounting opening of the outlet box. The other end is integral with a clamping head, that at least partially overlies a cable entrance, and is formed with serrations that bite into the surface of non-metallic, sheathed cable. When a cable is inserted it deflects the clamping head and leg against the spring tension of the leg.

  • Patent number: 4419537
Abstract: Electrical wiring box arrangements include a wiring box, and a cable clamp device which mounts rotatably in a wall of the box adjacent to a knockout region. The cable clamp device provides a cable engaging surface which moves toward the cable as the clamp device is rotated. A non-metallic sheathed cable passing through a knockout opening in one wall of the wiring box is clamped between the edge of the knockout opening and the cable engaging surface of the clamp device mounted in a second wall of the box forming an angle with the wall having the knockout opening.

  • Patent number: 4277641
Abstract: An electrical wiring box with attachable clamp for non-metallic sheathed cable comprises, in combination, a wiring box with attachment receiving means for mounting a cable clamp device interior to the box adjacent to a knock-out, and a cable clamp device. The clamp device comprises a base and support members with a hinged resilient flap. Non-metallic sheathed cable is clamped between the flap member and the base member of the clamp device. Attachment means on the clamp device provide for mounting of the clamp device in the attachment receiving means of the wiring box.
