  • Publication number: 20230260374
Abstract: An illuminated safety garment to improve the visibility of a wearer, such as a public service worker, in low-light conditions. The safety garment features an integrated LED light system that is electrically connected to a power source, and that ensure that the wearer is visible to third parties from a 360 degree vantage point. The LED light system may be hardwired or in wireless communication with an individualized or central controller that enables the user to control multiple aspects or features of the LED light system, as well as those of a number of other accessories such as an audible system, locator system, etc. Use of the illuminated safety garment offers a way to prevent serious accidents and injuries due to low visibility of, for example, public service workers.

  • Publication number: 20210034767
Abstract: A computing device, such as a server, has a sealed housing and runs one or more data extraction agents. In some embodiments, the computing device includes one or more processors and memory located inside the sealed housing, the memory stores instructions that when executed by the one or more processors causes the one or more processors to: authenticate with a data recipient system using a prestored security engine and using a shared registration secret uniquely associating the computing device with the data recipient system; retrieve an extraction job specification from an extraction job specification repository associated with the data recipient system; and using the extraction job specification, communicate to one or more client computing devices associated with a client system to extract data records from one or more data stores of the client system. Related methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5296408
Abstract: A fabrication method for a microstructure having a vacuum sealed cavity therein including the process steps of forming an aluminum filled cavity in a body of silicon material and heating the structure such that the aluminum is absorbed into the silicon material leaving a vacuum in the cavity. In one embodiment of the invention a cavity is etched into a silicon wafer and filled with aluminum. A silicon dioxide layer is formed over the aluminum filled cavity and the structure is heated to produce the vacuum cavity.

  • Patent number: 5178347
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for launching a capsule into a lower orbit in conjunction with the launch of a satellite into a higher energy orbit. The capsule is located in the launch vehicle so that, at burnout of the next-to-last stage of the launch vehicle, the altitude of velocity of the last stage capsule and satellite are sufficient to correspond to a desire orbit for said capsule. The capsule is released before ignition of the last stage during the ballistic phase of flight between the next-to-last stage and the last stage. After release of the capsule, the last stage is ignited permitting the satellite to be placed in the desired higher energy orbit. Particular preferred embodiments of the invention relates to slewing of the launched vehicle so as to release the capsule in predetermined directions apart from the launch direction so as to obtain a desired amount of separation between the capsule and the last stage prior to ignition of the last stage.

  • Patent number: 4757960
Abstract: Lost-fluid hydraulic actuation system. This system makes it possible to control for a short time an element (168) in an autonomous working unit, particularly a rocket, with an onboard means (100) connected to the unit. Hydraulic fluid under pressure is introduced into the element (168) by a delivery pipe (141). A tank (130) supplies the hydraulic fluid used during the autonomous working, a helium bottle (110) puts the hydraulic fluid under pressure, and an evacuation pipe (171) evacuates the hydraulic fluid out of the autonomous unit after it has actuated the element (168).

  • Patent number: 4229233
Abstract: A differential reactive ion etching process significantly reduces the reflectivity of silicon. The process takes place in a reactive ion etching tool, typically a diode-configured system employing ambient gases which react with the silicon.

  • Patent number: 4115120
Abstract: A method of depositing patterned thin films on an integrated circuit substrate which comprises first forming a layer of positive photoresist material on the substrate and then heating to partially cure the photoresist while maintaining the surface of the photoresist interfacing with the substrate at a lower temperature than the opposite surface of the photoresist which is being exposed to the heat. As a result of this expedient, the upper or exposed portion of the photoresist layer is cured to a greater extent than the lower portion at the interface with the substrate. Then, the photoresist layer is exposed to a selected pattern of light, after which developer for the photoresist material is applied.
