  • Patent number: 8565068
Abstract: A system and method for preventing the occurrence of a signaling deadlock between a SGSN and a GGSN during an overlap of the functionality of the direct tunnel normal release and the direct tunnel error indication procedures is provided. An indication that the error is caused by a normal release of tunnel resources instructs the GGSN to invoke an error handling procedure to mitigate deadlock by delaying the operation of its error indication procedure.

  • Publication number: 20130024523
Abstract: A Gateway GPRS Support Node initiates the termination of a session at both session endpoints in response to releasing flow information for an idle flow when performing a transparent content enrichment procedure. The Gateway GPRS Support Node instructs each of the source and destination nodes to terminate the session in an effort to mitigate the occurrence of a TCP signaling storm in a communication network. The Gateway GPRS Support Node can observe a mismatch condition in TCP messages and invoke procedures to prevent a signaling storm.

  • Patent number: 7761913
Abstract: The present invention is a method for providing network access to a Mobile Terminal (MT) in a packet switched telecommunications network. An access-request is sent from a Gateway server to an Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) server for requesting network access for the MT. The access-request includes an Access Point Name (APN) for identifying a selected APN and a MT identity parameter for identifying the MT. The AAA determines whether or not the MT is authorized on the selected APN. If the MT is not allowed on the selected APN, the Gateway server selects a subsequent APN from a list of selectable APNs based on a generic APN. However, if the MT is allowed on the selected APN, the AAA server sends an access-accept message for indicating to the Gateway server that the MT is allowed on the APN combination.

  • Publication number: 20050235281
Abstract: A method for creating a software installation package, a data storage medium storing the package, and a method for using the package are provided, wherein the package comprises an Operating System (OS) software program, an application program and possibly a configuration file of the application program. The package is created by inserting the application program in a partition data of the OS software program, and by generating the software installation package comprising the OS software program and the application program. Optionally, the package contains a configuration file inserted preferably in a memory disk image of an OS partition data of the OS software program. For using the package, a computer is started on a data storage medium storing the package, and the OS software program is installed on the computer from the data storage medium. Then, the application program is installed on the computer system, and optionally is configured with information from the configuration file.
