  • Patent number: 6035896
Abstract: The invention concerns a valve comprising a circular frame (1) whose inner edge narrows to form flexible areas (3) connecting the frame to triangular vanes (2). The areas (3) form articulations about which the vanes pivot when the valve opens or closes. In the closed position, the vanes bear against one another and the assembly adopts a pyramidal position. The valve can be produced by the injection of plastics. The entire valve may be produced in a single part.

  • Patent number: 5451190
Abstract: The apparatus comprises a first tubular part (1) comprising an air inlet (4) wherein the patient may breathe out and in. A second part (2), inclined upwardly, comprises an outlet duct (5) having a conical shape and in which is disposed a spherical ball (6) having a diameter larger than the dimensions of the inlet orifice of the duct, in order to obstruct the duct before expiration. The axis of the conical duct (5) is inclined upwardly with respect to the axis of the tubular-shaped part (1). A third part (3) downwardly inclined comprises an outlet duct (5') having a conical shape and in which is disposed a spherical ball (6') having a diameter larger than the dimensions of the inlet orifice of the duct, in order to obstruct the duct before inspiration, the axis of said conical duct (5') being inclined with respect to the axis of the tubular-shaped part (1).

  • Patent number: 5018517
Abstract: The apparatus comprises a first tubular part (2) comprising an air inlet (4) wherein the patient may breathe out and a second part (3) comprising a conical channel (5) of which the axis (15) is inclined upwardly by an angle of 60.degree. with respect to the axis (16) of the first tubular part. A steel ball (8) is arranged in the conical channel (5) so as to occlude said channel before expiration. During expiration, the ball is displaced along the lowest portion (17') of the channel and induces oscillating effects of resistance to expiration and allows a percusion ventilation of high efficiency. The apparatus further comprises a cover (9) presenting openings (10) and intended to prevent the ball from escaping.
