    Abstract: An automatic braking method and apparatus for a vehicle, having particular applicability to aircraft, wherein a program deceleration signal is generated according to a preselected deceleration. A signal which is a function of the actual speed of the vehicle is compared with the program signal, and a difference signal is produced. The difference signal controls the actuation of the braking system of the vehicle to result in braking thereof in accordance with the preselected deceleration.
