  • Publication number: 20020198464
Abstract: Resilient attachment members interconnect a pair of flat plates of a movement detector pad and are preferably disposed in the corners of these flat plates. A piezoelectric transducer is disposed centrally between the plates to generate signals when the plates move with respect to one another. In one embodiment the resilient attachment members each have a connector pin which is connected to one of the plates and extends into a pin receiving hollow node formed in the other plates and projecting above an inner surface of the other plate. The end of the connector pin has lateral projections to engage within the node when both plates are spaced apart a predetermined distance by the pressure of helical springs which are disposed about each pin and its associated node. During movement of the pin within the node the pin is in substantially friction free movement whereby not to corrupt the movement signal generated by the piezoelectric crystal.

  • Patent number: 5567895
Abstract: A sound reverberator for a string musical instrument having a sound box and strings tensioned over a saddle member of a bridge piece connected to a top wall of the sound box. The reverberator comprises one or more pre-tensioned springs secured internally of the sound box. A metallic transfer member is secured to a free end of the spring internally of the sound box. The transfer member is displacedly supported under the strings by a finger actuated displaceable support element for releasably engaging the springs of the musical instrument to transfer vibrations from the strings to the one or more metal springs whereby to produce sound vibrations internally of the sound box to modify the tonality of the sound generated by the sound box as a result of setting the strings in vibration.

  • Patent number: 5403634
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a collapsible flower vase that includes an elongated sleeve member made of flexible material, a pair of collars having a given shape, each having a structure adapted to engage a corresponding edge of the sleeve member to form a rigid assembly having a shape corresponding to that of the collars, and a flexible water-tight bag received within the rigid assembly and secured between one of the collars and an edge of the sleeve member. The sleeve member has rigidity along its longitudinal axis and flexibility in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 5095677
Abstract: The combination comprises a plurality of extrusions which are interconnected by means of a plurality of connectors thereby defining the modular system. The extrusions can also be interconnected end to end by means of joining members. The extrusions can be made of tubular members which have a first set of equally spaced radial projections provided with outer ribs to engage the connectors. There are also a second set of projections disposed between the first set of projections so as to enable panels to be disposed between the first and second projections. The connectors include a rod and clamping members at both ends of the rods to engage the ribs formed on the first set of projections. The joining members are spherical and have projecting stud members which are pressed fittingly engageable in the tubular extrusions for end to end connections thereof.

  • Patent number: 5018650
Abstract: There is disclosed an improved tamper-proof hanger having interchangeable shoulder cups. The tamper proof hanger is provided with gripping arms which move in the vertical plane of the hanger to clamp down on the hanger arms. The shoulder cups attach to the ends of the gripping arms, and a garment is secured to the hanger by clamping it between the shoulder cups and hanger arms. A locking mechanism locks the gripping arms in the clamping position and locks the hanger to a rod to prevent theft. The shoulder cups have a U-shaped cross-section and may slide onto the ends of the gripping arms using a tongue and groove arrangement. They are lined on their underside with an anti-slip material. This material preferably consists of a rubber pad having a central band extending away from the bottom of the cup to leave a gap in between. In this way, the band may conform to the size of the shoulders of the garment being secured, so that the garment is best gripped and secured.

  • Patent number: 5011054
Abstract: A key-operable combination for use in a tamper-proof garment hanger, which combination is very simple yet efficient in structure and is capable of cooperation with a rack forming part of a garment gripping member for selectively holding the gripping member into and out of locking position. This key-operable combination comprises a cylinder lock comprising an outer lock cylinder solid with the larger casing and a key-operable rotary lock barrel mounted within the outer cylinder. An operating member is rotatably mounted on the outer lock cylinder, within the casing, this operating member and the lock barrel being coupled together for allowing rotation of the operating member when the lock barrel is key-operated into rotation. A pawl radially projects from the operating member. This pawl has a free end operatively engaging the rack of the gripping member.

  • Patent number: 4762046
Abstract: A sound reverberator device for detachable connection to the strings of a string musical instrument which has strings tensioned over a bridge piece connected to the top wall of the sound box or the instrument. The reverberator comprises three spaced apart metal coil springs secured side-by-side at a common end to a spring support. A metallic string attachment member is secured to a free end of each of the springs. The attachment member has string engaging fingers for engaging a respective one of a pair of adjacent strings of the musical instrument. The attachment member further has a bridge abutment portion for contact with the bridge piece. When the reverberator is connected to the musical instrument, the springs are tensioned with the attachment member connected to the strings whereby vibrations imparted to the strings will be transmitted to the bridge piece and the associated spring.
