  • Patent number: 5212909
Abstract: A passage (1) with monitored authorization of access is provided with a closure device using a barrier (2) hinged about a vertical axis .gamma.. The passage includes at least one such barrier (2) with an end thereof situated adjacent to the vertical axis .gamma.. Rectilinear guides (6 to 9) guide the axis .gamma. along a line .DELTA. parallel to the through direction of the passage. The barrier is further provided with a hinged link (4) which is hinged firstly about a vertical axis .gamma..sub.1 situated along the barrier (2), and secondly about a vertical axis .gamma..sub.2 situated in the vicinity of the line .DELTA.. A drive system (10 to 13, 22 to 24) opens and closes the passage by causing the vertical axis .gamma. to slide along the line .DELTA.. The vertical axis .gamma. is situated at a distance l from the line .DELTA.. The length of the barrier (2) between the vertical axis .gamma. and the vertical axis .gamma..sub. 1 is equal to L. The passage is characterized in that the length L.sub.

  • Patent number: 4860389
Abstract: A helmet of the integral type (1) including a helmet (2) provided with an aperture (3) closable by means of a movable screen (4). The movable screen is removed from the aperture by a pushbutton (7) actuating a lever (8). The lever is accommodated by the thickness of the helmet itself and bears on the inner face of the screen. In order to move the screen relative to the helmet, the end of a finger is placed between the helmet and the screen and manually opens aperture (3).

  • Patent number: 4766615
Abstract: A safety helmet comprising a shell and a chin-strap associated thereto, the one chin-strap end being rotatably mounted on a pivot fastened to the shell, the other chin-strap end being joined to the shell through a control member rotatably mounted on a pivot fastened to the shell, and so arranged as to move the chin-strap between two end positions, a first position allowing either fitting the helmet on, or removing the head therefrom, wherein the chin-strap projects in front of the chin to make the helmet opening completely free, and a second position corresponding to securing the helmet, wherein that chin-strap portion intended to bear under the chin to secure the helmet, is bearing underneath the chin.

  • Patent number: 4736604
Abstract: A housing (20) provided with a flexible cord (10) for connecting said housing to a living object or to an inanimate object, said housing receiving a plug (30) including two through cavities (31A, 31B) each of which receives a tag (11A, 11B) fixed to a corresponding end of the flexible cord, said housing including two shoulders (24A) each serving as an abutment for a corresponding one of the tags, said abutments ensuring, once the plug has been fully inserted into the housing, that both ends of the cord are definitively retained in the housing, said housing further including an abutment (34) defining an end-of-insertion position for the plug.

  • Patent number: 4345583
Abstract: An apparatus for the preparation of hot water using solar energy and non-solar auxiliary energy. Solar heated water in a reservoir is provided for utilization if it is at least at a desired temperature. If the solar heated water is not sufficiently hot, an auxiliary gas heater is used to heat a second reservoir of water to at least the desired temperature. A thermostatic mixer is capable of supplying solar heated water mixed with auxiliary heated water, or only auxiliary heated water, or only solar heated water for utilization. The non-solar heater is utilized only when necessary.

  • Patent number: 4224869
Abstract: According to a representative embodiment of the invention, a parallel line printer such as a thermal printer is provided having a parallel printing head with a plurality of printing elements arranged to extend across the width of a paper strip. Electrical signals representative of characters to be printed can be stored in a storage device having a capacity corresponding to a full line of characters, and a print control logic is operative to cause the printing head to print up to a full line of characters simultaneously, or substantially so, in response to a print command. Means are provided to permit printing to be resumed on a line already containing characters printed in response to certain print commands. In the case when the paper is typically moved forward after one line has received print, means are provided to return such line back under the printing head if printing must resume on such line.

  • Patent number: 4165732
Abstract: A process and an apparatus for preparation of hot water, using solar energy is set forth. In the process, the water is made to circulate successively in two reservoirs connected in series, and the water is heated from solar energy in one reservoir while the second reservoir can be heated by a known means, such as an electrical resistance. Continuous circulation of the water is created, in a closed loop, by a circulator pump which introduces at least a part of the water discharging from the second reservoir into the first reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4067118
Abstract: The invention relates to a new type of fluidized bed reactor of the so-cad central jet type. This reactor has an annular shape such as that shown in the accompanying drawings. The annulus is defined by vertical cylindrical walls at its upper part, and by conical walls at its lower part, the latter walls being joined to one or more annular pipes. Such an arrangement considerably increases the capacity of the jet reactors. This reactor may be used for a large number of applications: preparation of nuclear fuels, drying of cereals, etc.
