  • Patent number: 11959798
Abstract: A method and a system for noise discrimination, the method comprising measuring noise levels of a noise source, measuring noise levels at a target location positioned at a distance from the noise source, measuring wind speed and direction in an area comprising the noise source and the target location, filtering transient short-duration events from the noise levels measured at the noise source, yielding filtered noise levels of the noise source, filtering transient short-duration events from the noise levels measured at the target location, yielding filtered noise levels of the target location, measuring a sound transfer function between the noise source and the target location using the filtered noise levels, comparing the measured sound transfer function with a reference transfer function; and when the difference between the measured transfer function and the reference transfer function is above a predetermined threshold, determining a probability that noise at the location originates from the noise source.

  • Publication number: 20220193945
Abstract: A method of can be used to make a wood composite material. The method includes forming a panel having wood fibers and additives, sanding a main surface of the panel, applying a polymer to the sanded main surface of the panel, and curing the polymer by irradiating the main surface of the panel. After the curing, the main surface has a solid discontinuous composite including a mixture of the wood fibers and cured polymer micro-islands.

  • Patent number: 9750451
Abstract: Method and apparatus for determining that a pressure field is applied on a structure. A plurality of acoustic waves are generated within the structure using at least one wave generator and a plurality of measurements of the acoustic waves is taken using at least one wave sensor. A pressure field applied to a surface of the structure is determined by processing at least two of the plurality of measurements. The wave generator and the wave sensor may be piezoelectric elements, which may alternate between acting as the wave generator and the wave sensor. Processing the measurements may comprise obtaining a differential measurement value and comparing the value to a threshold. Determining that the pressure field is applied may comprise processing the measurements using a model based on acoustic wave propagation or experimental results. The processing may provide a mapping of the pressure field of an object on the structure.

  • Patent number: 5090407
Abstract: A chemical cartridge for protective respiratory mask comprising a separate active filter section and main filter section. The active filter section is formed of an absorbent medium impregnated with a reagent capable to capture and derive a target toxic pollutant having a chemically active fuction into an inert, non-volatile and non-toxic matter as air is inhaled. This active filter section is permeable to other types of pollutant. The main filter section includes activated carbon, or any other equivalent filtering material, and is positioned downstream the active filter section. In operation, the target pollutant is captured and derived into inert, non-volatile and non-toxic matter by the active filter section, while the other types of pollutants pass through this active filter section and are captured by the main filter section.
