  • Patent number: 5159704
Abstract: An information transmission arrangement comprising transceiver units (1, 2) located in a propagation medium (10) whose attentuation varies as a function of frequency. At least one unit (1) comprise a meter (67) for measuring the level of the received signal in order to influence the frequency variation control (32) of the control oscillator (28) in the send circuit (26, 28) of the other unit (2). This arrangement profits from a monotonic attenuation gradient of the propagation medium (10) having a zone (Z1) in the 50-60 GHz band to control the send level in a simple and effective manner.

  • Patent number: 4878433
Abstract: A device for neutralizing military objects by means of sub-munitions released by a mother rocket onto mobile targets on the ground. Each sub-munition (1) is provided with a military charge (2) and a wide range sensor (3) and descends while suspended from a parachute and turns uniformly about a vertical axis of symmetry (10), the angle formed by the firing axis (5) and the vertical being constant. Superimposed upon this rotational movement of the sub-munition, the periodic oscillatory movement of an orientable mirror (14) permits varying the direction of the optical axis (8') with respect to the firing axis during the detection phases of a target and the guiding of the sub-munition towards the detected target. Thus at each oscillation period of the orientable mirror the complete image of the circular area on the ground is obtained. In the last phase of firing, when aimed at the target, the optical axis is maintained in the direction of the firing axis.

  • Patent number: 4761652
Abstract: A distance-measuring arrangement including transmission means for transmitting a wave in a measuring field, receiving means for receiving the wave reflected from a moving body moving in the measuring field and for producing a beat signal from the Doppler frequency. Delimiting means is provided for forming, in the measuring field, at least two datum lines (Ca and Cb) and processing means is provided for processing the distance information obtained from measuring the Doppler frequencies at the instants when the moving body crosses the datum lines. The delimiting means are formed from thermal detectors disposed in an optical assembly having at least two optical axes for defining the datum lines. A timing circuit is provided for defining the instants at which the moving body crosses the datum lines and for applying this information to the processing means.

  • Patent number: 4062620
Abstract: A device for connecting optical fibers, the ends of which are provided with cylindrical envelopes of magnetic material which envelop the ends of the fibers and which are rigidly connected thereto. The connection device comprises a magnet having pole-shoes provided with means for guiding the said envelopes in order to position the end faces of the fibers one opposite the other in the air gap formed by the pole-shoes.
