  • Patent number: 4680939
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing heat and/or cold by means of a compression engine operating with a nonazeotropic mixed working fluid. It is characterized in that the mixed working fluid, partially vaporized at the output of evaporator (E1), is contacted, in heat exchange conditions, in (E2), with the compression system (K), in order to continue or complete the vaporization of the fluid which is then compressed, condensed in exchanger (E3), expanded through an expansion valve (V) and then recycled to evaporator (E1).
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 21, 1987
    Assignee: Institut Francais du Petrole
    Inventors: Alexandre Rojey, Claude Ramet
  • Patent number: 4498999
Abstract: Buildings are advantageously heated or heat-conditioned with a heat pump operated with a non-azeotropic mixture consisting essentially of two working fluids, with the mixture comprising a major component of monochlorodifluoromethane (R 22) and a minor component of trifluoromethane (R 23).

Date of Patent: February 12, 1985
    Assignee: Institut Francais du Petrole
    Inventors: Claude Ramet, Alexandre Rojey
  • Patent number: 4468337
Abstract: Buildings are advantageously heated or heat-conditioned with a heat pump operated with a non-azeotropic mixture of two working fluids. The mixture comprises 99 to 70% by mole of dichlorodifluoromethane (R 12), monochlorodifluoromethane (R 22) or one of the halohydrocarbon azeotropes R 500, R 501 or R 502 with 1 to 30% by mole of trifluoromethane (R 23) or the halohydrocarbon azeotrope R 503.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 14, 1983
Date of Patent: August 28, 1984
    Assignee: Institut Francais du Petrole

  • Patent number: 4406135
Abstract: A heating and thermal conditioning process makes use of a compression heat pump operated with a mixed working fluid consisting of a non-azeotropic fluid mixture, wherein the compressed mixture. The compressed fluid mixture is completely condensed by heat exchange with an external fluid and then sub-cooled. The sub-cooled fluid is then expanded and partially vaporized, and the partially vaporized fraction is used as a sub-cooling agent for the condensed fluid mixture in a heat exchange having also the effect of completing said vaporization to produce a gaseous mixture whch is again compressed in a new cycle of operation of the heat pump.
