  • Patent number: 8220209
Abstract: A ground anchor for anchoring a structure positioned on the ground. The ground anchor comprises a base member, a movable anchoring member and a holding member. The base member is fitted in a hole within the ground and fixedly secured to the ground against removal thereof. The movable anchoring member is mounted to the base member and is movable between a non-anchoring position and an anchoring position. The holding member is mountable to the movable anchoring member when in the anchoring position and to the structure positioned on the ground. When the base member is fixedly secured to the ground, and the movable anchoring member is in the anchoring position with the holding member mounted thereto and to the structure, the ground anchor anchors the structure to the ground. A kit comprising a plurality of such ground anchors is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5494309
Abstract: A trailer unit includes a front trailer section and a rear trailer section disposed in an aligned end-to-end relationship with a lift arm being pivotally connected at opposite ends thereof to the front and rear trailer sections. The rear trailer section includes a series of ground engaging wheels, whereas the front trailer section, when hitched to the tractor truck, is simply supported by the tractor truck's conventional fifth wheel. The trailer unit is adapted to be rigged to a conventional tractor truck with no important modifications having to be made thereto. Hydraulic cylinders are pivotally mounted at their cylinder ends to rear of the front trailer section and at their piston ends to the front end of the lift arm. When the cylinders are extended, a rear end of the lift arm is gradually pivoted upward and forward, whereby lifting the front end of the rear trailer section and carrying the same gradually onto the front trailer section.

  • Patent number: 4630784
Abstract: The present invention provides a process and a device for manufacturing superposed mother capacitors comprising the spiral winding of metalized films on a wheel as well as periodic interpositioning of an insert. The position of an interpositioning device is made dependent on the position of the external layer of the winding, and at least a first means is moved from a rear position to a forward position. The first means may carry a second means and the travel paths of the first and second means may be adjusted by cams, more particularly for positioning a cutting device carried by said first means.

  • Patent number: 4624037
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the continuous production of capacitors of the stacked type, wherein a stock or matrix capacitor in the form of a parallelepipedal bar is cut into elementary capacitors of which the lateral connections formed by the application of molten metal (Schoop process) are subsequently connected to electrical connecting wires. In accordance with the invention, the transfer from the cutting station to the soldering station for the connecting wires is performed by means of a gripper whose jaws are applied on the lateral connections formed by the application of molten metal and make it possible to inject an electrical checking signal between the plates of the capacitor during the transfer operation.

  • Patent number: 4530346
Abstract: A mechanical thermostat for modulating the temperature of a solid fuel-burning stove, including a casing, a thermostat coil mounted in the casing to sense the stove wall plate temperature; a downwardly-spaced air admission mechanism. The air admission mechanism includes a pair of identical openable and closable orifices by way of a variable closure mechanism. A linkage connects the latter with the coil. The relation between temperature fluctuation and the effective open area of the orifices is expressed by a mathematical equation allowing for very constant desired stove temperature during burning time. A firing control for the stove is further provided.
