  • Publication number: 20220341307
Abstract: A system for wireline service planning and advising includes a receiver, one or more computing system processors, and a transmitter. The receiver is configured to receive, from a user of the system, an objective parameter for interpreting a state of a well barrier. The one or more computing system processors is in communication with the receiver and configured to generate a plurality of candidate services based on the objective parameter and a model of the well barrier, each candidate service specifying sensor data to be acquired using wireline tools, select at least one wireline service from the wireline candidate services based on a selection logic or input by the user, and generate an execution plan specifying operational parameters of the selected wireline service. The transmitter is in communication with the one or more computing system processors and configured to transmit the execution plan to execute the selected wireline service at a wellsite.

  • Publication number: 20220335185
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method comprising: receiving a resource model associated with a resource site and receiving one or more objective parameters, such that a first objective parameter comprised in the one or more objective parameters is a function of one or more parameter values of the resource model. The method comprises executing simulations to generate a first uncertainty value based on at least one of a first parameter value and a first uncertainty value of a first parameter of the resource model. The simulations may be executed to generate a first forecast uncertainty value for each scenario comprised in a plurality of scenarios. The method also identifies one service that minimizes an uncertainty value of the objective parameter based on the forecast uncertainty value. The method further includes generating a first visualization comprising the one identified service for viewing by a user via a user interface.

  • Publication number: 20220243575
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system that is operable to receive an execution plan and execute a control operation on one or more equipment based operations within the execution plan. The one or more operations may include a data capturing operation associated with a resource site. In one embodiment, the system may be operable to execute at least a first operation in response to a success variable of the data capturing operation indicating a successful execution of the data capturing operation. The first operation may include a quality control operation that is executed by comparing at least one characteristic of the captured data to an expected characteristic to generate quality state data. The quality state data may have one of an acceptable status and an undesirable status. In response to the quality state data indicating an acceptable status for the quality control operation, executing at least a second operation.

  • Patent number: 8635025
Abstract: A method of transmitting borehole image data from a borehole location to a remote location includes obtaining a set of image data describing formation surrounding a borehole using a logging tool at a selected depth or range of depths in the borehole, extracting one or more image features from the set of image data downhole, and transmitting a representation of the extracted image features to the surface.

  • Patent number: 7630517
Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided that automatically characterizes and verifies stationarity of a training image for use in multipoint geostatistical analysis. The stationarity is preferably characterized by statistical measures of orientation stationarity, scale stationarity, and category distribution stationarity.

  • Patent number: 7457194
Abstract: Fracture- and stress-induced sonic anisotropy is distinguished using a combination of image and sonic logs. Borehole image and sonic logs are acquired via known techniques. Analysis of sonic data from monopole P- and S-waves, monopole Stoneley and cross-dipole shear sonic data in an anisotropic formation are used to estimate at least one compressional and two shear moduli, and the dipole fast shear direction. Fracture analysis of image logs enables determination of fracture types and geometrical properties. Geological and geomechanical analysis from image logs provide a priori discrimination of natural fractures and stress-induced fractures. A forward quantitative model of natural fracture- and stress-induced sonic anisotropy based on the knowledge of fracture properties interpreted from image logs allows the computation of the fast-shear azimuth and the difference in slowness between the fast- and slow-shear. The misfit between predicted and observed sonic measurements (i.e.
