  • Patent number: 7540135
Abstract: A riding mower with a height adjustable mowing deck includes an operator seating area and a cam wheel rotatably connected to a frame of the mower adjacent to the operator seating area. The mowing deck is supported below the frame of the mower by a deck lifting system comprising a plurality of cooperating bell cranks pivotally connected at various locations to the frame. One of the bell cranks is connected for common rotation to a secondary arm aligned in a common plane with the cam wheel. A rod pivotally connects at one end to the secondary arm. The opposite end of the arm contacts an edge portion of the cam wheel. A selector wheel associated with the cam wheel, for adjusting the cam wheel edge in contact with the rod, has a scalloped perimeter edge. A detent engages the scalloped edge to maintain a selected position of the cam wheel.

A chain or like connector connects each bell crank to the mowing deck. Rotation of the bell cranks in one direction raises the mowing deck, and rotation in the opposite direction lowers the mowing deck. One of the bell cranks is connected for common rotation to a secondary arm aligned in a common plane with the cam wheel. A rod pivotally connects at one end to the secondary arm. The opposite end of the arm contacts an edge portion of the cam wheel.

  • Patent number: 7013626
Abstract: A deck height adjustment apparatus for a walk-behind mower includes a foot pedal actuated lever operably connected to a deck lift mechanism for raising and lowering a mowing deck. A cam wheel, having an outer edge of a varying radius relative to an axis of rotation, is mounted to a mower body proximate the lever. The deck height is a function of the radius of the outer edge of the cam wheel in contact with the lever. An adjustment mechanism for setting the deck height is conveniently located on a handle of the walk-behind mower.

  • Patent number: 5851269
Abstract: A desiccant canister for an air braking system having dual internal air flow paths and means for avoiding localized compression of the molecular desiccant sieve. The present invention provides a spin-on canister having an inner shell spring-loaded into an outer shell. The inner shell contains the molecular desiccant sieve. To increase the internal flowpath without increasing the outer size of the canister, a baffle plate is provided within the inner shell to divide the molecular sieve into an outer annular chamber and inner core of roughly equivalent flow dimension. The air to be dried therefore is able to make one pass through one flow path and then another pass through another flow path. To avoid localized compression of the molecular sieve, the inner shell is spring loaded into the outer shell and cooperates with a sliding baffle plate to effect equilibrium.
