  • Patent number: 4922858
Abstract: An energy free animal waterer includes a base unit having an upstanding tube in which a ballast connected to a cable moves for normally pivoting a closure valve upwardly into engagement with an access opening in a top unit mounted on the base unit. The mechanism for opening and closing the closure valve is totally independent of the water in the reservoir and the top unit such that freezing of the water will not render the closure valve inoperative and the unit may be easily assembled and disassembled.

  • Patent number: 4744332
Abstract: The hog waterer of this invention includes a center top wall portion with downwardly and oppositely extending wall portions. A pair of lids are pivoted to the center portion for closing an access opening in each of the sloping wall portions. The bottom face of the lid includes a downwardly extending tapered semi-cylindrical closure member which due to a loose pivot connection is self-centering in the access opening. The diameter of the closure member is sufficiently large to space the lid from the sloping top wall portion to prevent any ice build up on the sloping top wall portion from interfering with the closure member from sealing the water in the reservoir tank from the cold outside atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4559905
Abstract: The animal watering tank of the present invention includes a top, a bottom, and a sidewall of double-walled construction filled with insulative material. The top of the tank includes a dome portion which provides an air chamber for housing the water inlet valve of the tank. A water access opening in the top of the tank is normally closed by a buoyant spherical float. An animal desiring a drink can obtain water by pushing downwardly on the float with his head such that the float rolls away from the opening along a converging track attached to the interior surface of the top of the tank so as to present water to the animal. When the animal is finished drinking, the float naturally rolls back into thermally sealing engagement with the access opening. Drainage means and overflow pipes are also provided in the tank.

  • Patent number: 4462335
Abstract: A farrowing hut structure of non-porous fiberglass material is pivotally connected at one of its ends to one end of a fiberglass floor for being pivoted between lowered and raised positions with the floor and interior of the hut structure being fully exposed to the sun and atmosphere when the hut is in its raised upended position. The hut is divided into a center sow section with pig sections on opposite sides and the floor includes heating elements embedded therein for heating the pig sections. An open top pen enclosure is connected to the hut enclosure at the end opposite the end pivotally connected to the floor. The pen floor and the hut structure in one embodiment is formed from fiber glass while in a second embodiment, the pen floor is concrete and is connected to a waste gutter which receives waste products from the hut structure and pen enclosure due to the hut structure and pen enclosure being placed on an incline sloping toward the waste gutter.

  • Patent number: 3993304
Abstract: The apparatus simulates a motorcycle ride over an irregular terrain and has a pair of cycles arranged at transversely opposite sides of the apparatus supported at the opposite ends of a common supporting structure. A horizontal rotatable drive member and a horizontal stationary member thereabove support the opposite ends of an upright gyrating motion transmitting member by ball and socket joint connections; the connection with the drive member being offset from the axis thereof and the connection through the stationary member being coincident with the axis of rotation of the drive member. The supporting structure is mounted on the upper end of the gyrating motion transmitting member and is guidably confined against rotation in a horizontal plane so that the opposite ends of the supporting structure are reciprocally movable in a substantially vertical elliptical path with compound vertical and tilting movement.

  • Patent number: 3971076
Abstract: The pool is of an elongated trough shape and formed of connectible units or modules each of which has cross sectional dimensions providing for its passage through usual size school doors. The water is of a uniform depth over the full length of the pool such that a child may finger tip the bottom anywhere in the pool and is continuously heated, filtered and circulated. The bottom of the pool is marked with numbered training stations with a swimmer in a training station being addressed by the station number. Instructions may be given from within the pool or from a horizontal walkway extended outwardly from the upper edge of the pool.
