  • Patent number: 8587826
Abstract: Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture to enhance automation of conversion and/or persistent storage of color management information embedded within an associated, received data object. Features and aspects hereof provide that color management information embedded within an identified data object (e.g., an image data object) is converted to an appropriate form useful within the printing environment and persistently stored for re-use in conjunction with presentation of received data objects in a print job. For example, an ICC profile embedded within a received image data object may be converted to an AFP color management resource (a color conversion CMR and/or zero or more link CMRs) and persistently stored in an object library for re-use in presentation of print jobs. The conversion and persistent storage of such color management information may be substantially automated as a step in the installation of the underlying data object.

  • Patent number: 8151206
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses and computer program products are provided for modifying an order of processing of a task performed on a plurality of objects. A user selects a plurality of objects and a task to perform on the objects, and the initial order of processing of the objects is displayed to the user. The user may modify the initial order of processing to generate a modified order of processing while the task is performed on one of the objects. For example, a user may remove an object not yet processed from the order of processing. Performance of the task then continues on the remaining objects in the modified order of processing.

  • Patent number: 6965390
Abstract: A data processing controlled display system for the interactive display and control of a hierarchical trees of elements or objects in which multiple tree views are presented to the user. The objects in the views are selectable to display detail views of the objects, particularly attributes of the child objects of the selected parent object. The multiple tree views may be of different portions of the same tree or of different trees. The tree views are thus available for side by side comparison and detailed study, after which the system provides the capability to transfer objects from tree view to tree view, e.g. by drag and drop means.

  • Patent number: 6344859
Abstract: A data processing controlled display system for the interactive control of a variety of production operations is provided which offers to the operator a plurality of selectable sets of basic interactive functions, each set respectively for the control of one of a plurality of types of production operations. The operator interactively selects the one of said sets of basic functions most suitable for the control of the type of production operation which he wishes to control. There is further provided a plurality of selectable secondary functions for supplementing his selected set of basic functions for the production operation control and means for selecting at least one of said secondary functions so that the selected secondary function is combined with the selected set of basic functions into a customized interactive display interface for the control of the production operation.

  • Patent number: 6232968
Abstract: A data processing controlled display system for the interactive control of a variety of operations is provided which offers to an operator a plurality of selectable sets of basic interactive functions (i.e. an interactive display interface), each set respectively for the control of one of a plurality of types of operations. There are also provided means for switching a selected first one of said plurality of interactive display interfaces to a selected second one of said display interfaces and means for interactively controlling another one of said production control operations through said second selected interface.

  • Patent number: 6181340
Abstract: A data processing controlled display system for the interactive control of a variety of production operations is provided which offers to an operator or to a production supervisor the means for simplifying complex interactive display interfaces, thereby significantly reducing the number of production operations properties over which the operator has control. In this reduction, all of the operator controllable properties are displayed to the user or operator, and means for selecting a plurality of these controllable properties for interactive operator control of variable property values during said production operations are provided. Upon such a selection, there are further means for maintaining the nonselected properties at constant values during said production operations. These constant value properties remain hidden from the interface and the operator is presented with a simplified interface showing only the properties of which the values are controllable.

  • Patent number: 6151024
Abstract: A data processing controlled display system for the interactive display and control of a hierarchical tree of elements or objects which are selectable to display detailed views of the attributes of the child objects of the selected parent object. The invention is directed to parent objects of which the child objects are different object types. Upon the selection of such a parent object, its child objects are displayed in a plurality of separate screen regions, each respectively displaying the attributes of one of said different types of child objects. The different types of child objects may come from different levels in the hierarchy. The invention is also applicable to the hierarchical trees used in object oriented programming and particularly to situations in object oriented programming where the selected parent object is of a container class.

  • Patent number: 6128017
Abstract: In a data processor controlled display system interface for controlling operations, there is provided an error message monitoring and logging system which includes an indicator having a normal state and an attention state together with means for switching said indicator to the attention state upon receipt of a new error message. There are means for enabling a user to designate or click on this indicator and means responsive to said designation for displaying a log including at least said new error message. There are also means responsive to a subsequent user designation or clicking on of the indicator for removing said log and means for restoring said indicator to the normal state after said log is displayed.

  • Patent number: 6115044
Abstract: A data processing controlled display system for the interactive display and control of operations through a displayed tree having a plurality of items to be acted upon, wherein a parent item at one level has at least one child item at the next lower level, and means for enabling a modification of at least one property of all of the child items by enabling a designation of the modification of the property at the parent level without the modification of any property of the parent item. The system also has means for enabling the modification of the properties of at least one of the child items independently of any designation of modification made at the parent level.
