Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for welding and separating a packaging material (8), comprising an ultrasonic welding apparatus (2) having a sonotrode (3) with at least one sonotrode segment (3a), and an anvil (4) with at least one anvil segment (4a), and a combined cutting and tensioning device (5), wherein the sonotrode (3) can be rotated about a first rotational axis, and wherein the anvil (4) can be rotated about a second rotational axis. The cutting and tensioning device (5) is integrated in the ultrasonic welding apparatus (2), wherein initially, the cutting and tensioning device (5) tensions the fed packaging material (8), cutting it thereafter in a tensioned state with a blade (6).
