  • Patent number: 11333806
Abstract: The invention describes a light conversion device having a light converter, which is adapted to convert primary light to converted light, so that a peak emission wavelength of the converted light is in a longer wavelength range than a peak emission wavelength of the primary light. The light conversion device also has a reflective structure coupled to at least a part of a coupling surface of the light converter, where the reflective structure is a narrowband reflector arranged to reflect at least some of the primary light impinging on the reflective structure and to transmit at least some of the converted light impinging on the reflective structure.

  • Publication number: 20210302003
Abstract: The invention describes a light conversion device comprising: a light converter, wherein the light converter is adapted to convert primary light to converted light, wherein a peak emission wavelength of the converted light is in a longer wavelength range than a peak emission wavelength of the primary light, a reflective structure coupled to at least a part of a coupling surface of the light converter, wherein the reflective structure is a narrowband reflector in the sense that is arranged to reflect at least 55% of the primary light impinging on the reflective structure and to transmit at least 50% of the converted light impinging on the reflective structure. The invention further describes a laser-based light source comprising such a light conversion device. The invention further relates to a vehicle headlight comprising the laser-based light source.

  • Patent number: 10808910
Abstract: The invention describes a light converting device comprising: a light converter for converting laser light to converted light having a longer peak emission wavelength than the laser light, a heatsink comprising a reflective structure, and a clamping structure mechanically coupling the light converter to the heatsink, the clamping structure for pressing the light converter on a surface of the heatsink such that thermal conductance between the light converter and the heatsink is increased and at least a part of the converted light is reflected by means of the reflective structure when illuminated by means of the laser light, without any adhesive or connection layer between the light converter and the heatsink. The invention further describes a laser-based light source comprising such a light converting device, and a vehicle headlight comprising such a laser-based light source.

  • Patent number: 10808903
Abstract: A light converting device, comprising: a substrate functioning as a heatsink, a light converter adapted to convert laser light to converted light, wherein a peak emission wavelength of the converted light is in a longer wavelength range than a laser peak emission wavelength of the laser light, the light converter comprises a light entrance surface, a bonding surface opposite to the light entrance surface and at least one side surface, the bonding surface is mechanically and thermally coupled to the substrate, a reflective structure attached to or part of the substrate, wherein the reflective structure comprises at least one reflective metal surface arranged on the side of the substrate facing the light converter to reflect laser light and converted light, and a translucent ceramic protection layer, arranged between the reflective structure and the light converter, and having a thickness of less than 50 ?m.

  • Publication number: 20200122449
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing light converting devices each in form of a converter element attached on a carrier substrate, a carrier wafer and a converter wafer with lateral dimensions larger than the lateral dimensions of the converter elements are provided. A bond layer is applied to one of the carrier wafer and the converter wafer, and the converter wafer is securely fixed on the carrier wafer via the bond layer, thereby forming a wafer stack. The wafer stack is then separated into pieces such that first of said pieces have the lateral dimensions of the converter elements and do not share any edge with an edge of the wafer stack, said first pieces forming the light converting devices. With this method, a light converting device without any squeezed out bonding material, e.g. glue, is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20030044961
Abstract: The composition for the cell-specific transfer of an active compound in specific target cells can be used as a diagnostic or therapeutic agent or for gene therapy. The composition includes virus-like particles, which are each composed of a number of viral protein molecules derived from JC virus, a cationic polymer, for example a polyamine, a polyimine or an amino acid polymer, especially polyethylenimine, as an anchor molecule for a cell-specific ligand, and preferably a ligand bound to the cationic polymer as a binding partner for a cell-specific receptor. The viral protein is advantageously encoded with a nucleic acid having nucleotide sequence as shown by SEQ. ID NO. 1.
