  • Publication number: 20210321928
Abstract: The invention relates to methods and devices for providing parameters that indicate a higher likelihood of a postoperative delirium occurring. According to a first aspect of the invention, the following steps are provided: detecting (401) at least one EEG signal at the head of the patient; determining (402) the intraoperative alpha peak frequency of the EEG signal, wherein the alpha peak frequency in the power spectrum of the EEG signal is the frequency in the alpha band for which the power is greatest; checking (403) whether the determined intraoperative alpha peak frequency is significantly lower than a predefined reference value of the alpha peak frequency; and in the event of this, providing (404) a corresponding information in the form of a parameter that shows a higher likelihood of a postoperative delirium occurring. A second aspect of the invention evaluates the change in power of the alpha band after an anesthetic-inducing drug has been administered.

  • Publication number: 20210244353
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for providing a parameter which indicates a loss of consciousness of a patient under anesthesia. The method has the steps of: detecting (301) at least one EEG signal on the head of the patient; continuously determining (302) the spectral cut-off frequency in a current timeframe of the EEG signal; determining (303) the curve of the spectral cut-off frequency of the EEG signal in a period of time which begins before an anesthesia-inducing medication is administered and ends after the anesthesia-induced loss of consciousness is initiated; determining (304) the absolute minimum of the spectral cut-off frequency in the period of time, wherein a negative peak of the spectral cut-off frequency lies in the absolute minimum, and providing (305) information regarding at which point in time the absolute minimum was reached as a parameter for an indicative notification of the loss of consciousness of the patient.

  • Patent number: 10420912
Abstract: A system for influencing the senses of a person in a room for measuring and/or influencing physiological parameters of the person is provided. The person is substantially stationary and lying in the room during the measurement and/or influencing. The system includes a sound insulating apparatus for screening off acoustically active devices with respect to the person. The acoustically active devices serve for measuring and/or influencing the physiological parameters in the room, and an optical display apparatus for offering optical stimuli and/or signals for the person in the field of view of the person.

  • Publication number: 20170216555
Abstract: A control device (1) is disclosed for controlling a playback device (11), which is designed for playing back pictorial content on a display means (111) of the playback device (11) to generate visual stimuli (2) for a person (3). The control device comprises: an acquisition device (13), which is designed to acquire person-related data (131-1; 133-1), which are indicative of at least one symptom of the person (3), and to provide an acquisition result (13-1) depending on the person-related data; a controller (14), which is designed to determine at least one value of a playback parameter set (14-1) depending on the acquisition result; and a control unit (12), which is designed to control the playback of pictorial content (12-1), which is parameterized depending on the playback parameter set (14-1) determined with respect to value.
