  • Patent number: 7117195
Abstract: A method for deploying a service in a communication network by performing the steps of: invoking a service deployment engine by a request for the service, retrieval of deployment templates, retrieval of service deployment policies, determination of a current configuration of at least one network element involved in providing the service, and selection of a deployment template from the retrieved deployment templates based on the service deployment policies and configuration. Further, a method for configuring a network element via a network element controller through the intermediary of a network element proxy.

  • Publication number: 20030028669
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for routing a request to an application and a computer system containing a mapper 1. An incoming request is analyzed by the request object analyzer 3 and a corresponding descriptor of the request is created. The descriptor of the request is compared to descriptors of applications and to a descriptor of a logging module by the matcher 4. In case of a match to one of the descriptors of the applications the request is routed to the corresponding application and in case of a match with the descriptor of the logging module a copy of the request is forwarded to the logging module 7 in addition.

  • Publication number: 20020194334
Abstract: The efficiency of processor systems—pc-modem-gateway—for allowing users contacting service systems via access systems comprising stored service system codes defining and allowing access to these service systems and comprising stored user profiles related to service system codes, can be increased by, in response to download signals, downloading service system codes from the access systems to the processor system and storing these downloaded service system codes in the processor system's memory. Then users have these service system codes available in their processor system. The storing of downloaded service system codes may be temporarily, in case of the processor system generating access signals, and the access systems in response generating download signals, or may be for a longer period, in which case both said service system codes stored in the access systems and downloaded service system codes stored in the memory should be synchronized.

  • Publication number: 20020188719
Abstract: Network elements (NE) of a telecommunications network and an application platform (SP), which provides value-added services on top of the network, communicate with each other by means of triggers (T) and handles (H). Triggers (T) are notifications containing information to be sent by a network element to the application platform (SL) upon occurrence of predefined events and handles (H) are commands to be sent by the application platform (SL) requesting execution of predefined actions at said network element (NE). A network element (NE) includes a management information base (MIB) containing managed objects, which describe variables and parameters accessible by a network management system (NMS) to control and monitor the network element (NE). In order to allow systematic interrogation of the triggers and handles interface of a network element (NE), its management information base (MIB) stores additional managed objects which describe the triggers (T) and handles (H) supported by said network element (NE).
