  • Publication number: 20240007264
Abstract: Transceiver array synchronization by receiving a clock signal and at least one synchronization pulse signal at each transceiver IC of a plurality of transceiver integrated circuit (IC) subarrays, wherein each transceiver IC subarray contains a respective set of serially connected transceiver ICs; and synchronizing the transceiver IC with other transceiver ICs of the respective set of serially connected transceiver ICs by resetting a delta-sigma modulator (DSM) circuit to a predetermined state in accordance with the received at least one synchronization pulse signal.

  • Publication number: 20220384964
Abstract: A dual-band, tri-band, or higher-order multi-band array of antenna elements, with each element, or subsets of elements, connected to multiple radios at each antenna port. In one embodiment, an array comprises a 128 element Massive MIMO array having 64 horizontally-polarized (H-pol) and 64 vertically-polarized (V-pol) elements configured to provide dual polarization capability over multiple bands to accommodate highly-configurable simultaneous 4G and 5G operation.

  • Patent number: 10587438
Abstract: An antenna system is provided. In one example implementation, the antenna system may include a modal antenna that is operable in a plurality of different modes, and each mode may be associated with a different radiation pattern. The antenna system may include a tuning circuit configured to operate the modal antenna in the plurality of different modes. A transmission line may couple a radio frequency circuit to the modal antenna. The radio frequency circuit may be configured to modulate a control signal onto an RF signal using amplitude-shift keying modulation to generate a transmit signal for communication over the transmission line to the tuning circuit. The tuning circuit may be configured to demodulate the control signal such that the radio frequency circuit can adjust a mode of the modal antenna via the control signal. In some embodiments, the amplitude-shift keying modulation may include on-off keying modulation.

  • Patent number: 6449485
Abstract: A method and apparatus of determining the position of a mobile communications device using retransmitted GPS data is described. In the invention, a timing apparatus in the mobile communications device is synchronized with a timing device in the base station. The mobile unit samples and time stamps received GPS signals for retransmission to the base station. The base station uses the time stamp to determine an approximate time when the GPS sample was received allowing a reduction in the amount of GPS sample data needed to compute a position of the mobile communications device.

  • Patent number: 6236267
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for linearizing an output signal which is generated by a power amplifier (PA). A phase compensation on the output signal is performed using a phase feed-forward path and a phase feedback path. An amplitude compensation on the output signal is performed using an amplitude feed-forward path and an amplitude feedback path. The amplitude compensation is synchronized with the phase compensation.
