  • Publication number: 20250340140
Abstract: An inverter active discharge technique for an electrified vehicle includes in response to detecting the discharge request, performing an active inverter discharge procedure including commanding one set of the set of upper switches and the set of lower switches of a three-phase inverter to each be in an ON state to cause a three-phase short across the three-phase inverter to prevent back electromotive force (EMF) from supporting a high voltage bus, wherein the three-phase inverter is configured to convert an input direct current (DC) voltage to output alternating current (AC) voltages for powering an electric motor of the electrified vehicle, and during the three-phase short, commanding the other set of the set of upper switches and the set of lower switches of the three-phase inverter according to a periodic pulse waveform to allow shoot-through current to quickly discharge the high voltage bus.

  • Patent number: 11817803
Abstract: A method includes determining a vector state of an alternating current (AC) electrical machine. The method includes, when the vector state is a zero-vector state, obtaining a plurality of phase current samples of the AC electrical machine, determining a decay time constant based on the plurality of phase current samples, and determining a resistance of a winding of the AC electrical machine based on the decay time constant. The method further includes selectively activating a plurality of switches of an inverter configured to provide power to the AC electrical machine based at least on the resistance of the winding of the AC electrical machine.

  • Patent number: 9184678
Abstract: The present invention relates to a starting device for a single-phase induction motor, comprising a stator (M) with an running winding (B1) and a starting winding (B2), a starting device (28) connecting the starting winding (B2) to a source (F) of alternate voltage supply, when in a closed state, the start switch (S1) being carried to an open position when the start of the motor is ended, the starting device (28) comprising: a start switch (S1), an electronic signal-processing device (30) receiving current signals originating from a current sensor (RS) flowing through the start switch (S1) and receiving voltage signals from a current zero-crossing sensor SV, wherein the control unit (30) instructs the closing and opening of the start switch (S1) in accordance with the interpretation of the signals by voltage and current zero-crossing sensors, and time sensors.
