Abstract: Nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocyclic (poly)peroxycarbonxylic acids having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or a straight or branched alkyl, (hetero)cycloalkyl, (hetero)aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl group, wherein said groups are optionally substituted, or a carboxylic group or any other substituents non-reactive in the presence of the active oxygen of the peroxycarboxylic group;n is a number selected from 0 and 1;m is a number selected from 1, 2 and 3, andX represents an acidic anion selected from HSO.sub.4.sup.- and CH.sub.3 SO.sub.3.sup.-, and wherein the pyridinic ring may in its turn be condensed with at least one further (hetero) aromatic or (hetero)cycloalkylic ring;to their preparation process and to their use as bleaching agents.

Abstract: New organic peroxides having the formula ##EQU1## may be prepared by reacting a monohydroperoxide selected from R.sub.5 OOH and R.sub.6 OOH with an unsaturated carbonyl compound having the formula ##EQU2## the reaction being carried out in the presence of an acid catalyst at a temperature between about -30.degree.C and +80.degree.C, the molar ratio of the carbonyl compound to the hydroperoxide being between about 1:2 and 1:10. The new organic peroxides are particularly useful for crosslinking plastomers, vulcanizing elastomers, and as initiators for radical polymerizations.

Abstract: Tetraperoxides of the formula ##EQU1## where X is a bivalent radical such as alkylene; R.sub.1 is hydrogen or an organic radical; R.sub.2 is alkylene alkoxy carbonyl; and R.sub.3 is an organic radical. Method of preparing tetraperoxides by addition reaction between a bis-hydroperoxide and a carbonyl compound to form a dihydroxy diperoxide, followed by condensation of the dihydroxy diperoxide with a tertiary monohydroxide. The tetraperoxides are useful for vulcanizing saturated elastomers, crosslinking plastomers, and initiating radical polymerization.
