Publication number: 20180105971Abstract: A laundry appliance includes a blower that directs process air along an airflow path. A condensing heat exchanger heats the process air to define heated process air. A drum receives the heated process air to dry laundry. A pump directs fluid along a fluid path. An evaporating heat exchanger cools the fluid to define a cooled fluid. A refrigerant circuit directs a refrigerant between the condensing and evaporating heat exchangers. A shower area in which the cooled fluid is showered through the heated process air after the heated process air exits the drum to wash particulate matter out of the heated process air. The pump directs the fluid towards the evaporating heat exchanger in order to cool the fluid, and directs the cooled fluid to the shower area.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2016Publication date: April 19, 2018Applicant: WHIRLPOOL CORPORATIONInventors: Claudio Civanelli, Daniele Martinello

Publication number: 20080148765Abstract: A refrigerated drawer structure comprising the compressor-condenser assembly can be used within cabinets. The stream of forced air, for cooling the drawer (6), enters the drawer (6) through openings (R) made in the rear wall (6B), impinging directly on the articles contained therein. As a result, the articles contained in the drawer (S) are cooled more efficiently and rapidly. The drawer (6) also comprises devices for optimising the flow of air, preventing the cooling orifices from being blocked (K) by the objects contained in the drawer (6).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 27, 2006Publication date: June 26, 2008Applicant: WHIRLPOOL CORPORATIONInventors: Diego Barone, Lorenzo Bianchi, Alberto Bonaglia, Claudio Civanelli

Patent number: 6347645Abstract: A fluid dynamic diverter valve is provided which has a valve body with a fluid inlet zone communicating with a fluid diversion zone, which in turn communicates with a fluid outlet zone. In the fluid inlet zone there is at least one inlet for a fluid, at least one air inlet and a venturi passage for guiding the fluid as a jet. In a passage downstream of the venturi passage the air inlet communicates with the fluid jet exiting the venturi passage and the jet enters the diversion zone. Depending on whether the air inlet is blocked or not, the fluid jet either continues straight through the diversion zone to a first outlet from the valve body or, if the air stream is blocked, the jet is diverted to impinge upon a wall in the diversion chamber, the wall being arranged to be directed toward a different one of the outlet openings in the fluid outlet zone.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2001Date of Patent: February 19, 2002Assignee: Whirlpool CorporationInventors: Vincent Paulraj Gurubatham, Rocco Galli, Claudio Civanelli
