    Abstract: A resiliently biased plunger extends through a hole completely through the brake shoe and into a hole partially into the brake pad. The hole in the brake pad is of a depth that leaves the desired brake pad wear intact. When the brake pad is worn to the desired depth the plunger is resiliently urged through the brake pad to complete an electrical circuit which in turn gives a warning signal.
