Abstract: A system for under-cart cooling of furnace carts in tunnel furnaces comprises a plurality of closed cooling air channels which fill the under-cart channel to the largest possible extent and are only slightly spaced from the undersides of the tent and are only slightly spaced from the undersides of the furnace carts. The cooling air channels which are streamed through by cooling air provide for sufficient cooling of the furnace carts, while simultaneously an exchange of cooling air from the under-cart channel and of hot air from the burning channel can be avoided in a simple manner so that there is no need for additional sealing arrangements.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the ventilation effect on material dried in a tunnel drying plant, through which goods in the form of architectural ceramic structures, such as of bricks or tiles, to be dried and placed in layers, are moved in counter-current relation to an air current. The tunnel drying plant is designed with doors at the goods inlet and outlet ends. At the goods outlet end there is a pipe connection for blowing air under gage pressure into the plant, while at the goods inlet end and the top part of the tunnel drying plant there is an aspiration opening with an aspiration pipe connection. In the free cross-section of the flow tunnel drying plant, near the roof, there are air guiding bodies, which may be moved backwards and forwards in the length direction of the plant using cars on rails. These air guiding bodies are hollow and have a streamlined form.

Abstract: The invention relates to an installation or plant for making sintered brick blanks, which includes a material preparation plant, a press and molding device, a drying and sintering device, a discharge device and feeding means, as well as a central power source, and control and monitoring devices. The material consisting, for example, of clay, loam, clay marl with aluminum oxide and liquid medium, is prepared in the material preparation device and is formed into a strand by means of an extruder in the form molding device. The strand is then cut into brick blanks by means of a strand cutter and a wire cutter. The brick blanks are transferred with suitable transfer means and a displacement device in a defined, spaced-apart relationship, onto a transfer truck and from there onto a drying and sintering truck. A plurality of drying and sintering trucks run in a closed series through a tunnel dryer at an optimum speed for the drying process.
