  • Patent number: 10111147
Abstract: A plurality of data packets is received from a wireless communication system. At least one of SIP signaling messages and S1-AP signaling messages associated with calls being made or attempted in the wireless communication system are analyzed for a specified time period to identify one or more dropped calls. At least one of SIP signaling error codes and S1-AP signaling cause codes associated with the identified dropped calls are analyzed to identify one or more call drop reasons. An ASI data set is generated based on the analysis of the at least one of the SIP signaling messages and the S1-AP signaling messages and based on the analysis of the at least one of the SIP signaling error codes and the S1-AP signaling cause codes.

  • Patent number: 9215602
Abstract: A method for simulating a mobile telephone network with shared-access channels. The simulation method includes the steps of simulating at least a first and a second configuration of the mobile telephone network that are statistically independent one from the other. Each one of the steps of simulating includes at least the steps of: determining a number of mobile terminals generating a packet data traffic; assigning to a list of mobile terminals included in the number of mobile terminals generating a packet data traffic, at least one shared-access channel of the mobile telephone network to be simulated; and performing a scheduling management algorithm of the list of mobile terminals on the shared-access channel.

  • Patent number: 8391248
Abstract: A method of evaluating the performance of a mobile telephone network having at least a first and a second simulation of a first and a second network configuration, respectively, which are statistically independent of each other. Each simulation includes the following steps: specifying a total number of users to be simulated; determining a sequence of activation of user blocks included in this total number of users to be simulated and indicating a traffic distribution; activating said user blocks in succession until the total number of users to be simulated is reached; and processing at least one radio resource management event relating to the traffic distribution associated with each currently activated user block. The simulations are repeated until a predetermined accuracy threshold is reached for each simulated network value.

  • Patent number: 8270345
Abstract: A scheme substantially similar to that used in HSDPA (in which a downlink channel is provided for data transmission, and at least one associated control channel is provided for transmission of control information including information related to availability of a portion of the transmitted data for the current UE on the downlink channel) is adapted for prolonged high data rate transmission, particularly for MBMS transmission. A duration of the data portions sent on the downlink channel is varied possibly up to high duration values (as compared with a duration of one TTI). User equipment enjoying the service is informed of the duration of the imminent available data portion in a field suitably defined and transmitted as control information on the associated control channel(s). Advantageously, during the “long” decoding of the data portion, the UE does not monitor the associated control channel(s), so that the impact on the terminal's battery is considerably reduced.

  • Publication number: 20090252139
Abstract: A mobile-radio network includes radio base stations providing radio coverage to the users of the network via antenna elements, wherein the antenna elements are equipped with at least one first communication channel and at least one second communication channel. The first communication channel provides a first layer of individual microcell radio coverage for the antenna elements. The second communication channel is made common to groups of the antenna elements and provides a second layer of virtual macrocell radio coverage, wherein the coverage of each virtual macrocell aggregates the microcell radio coverages of the antenna elements included in the respective group.

  • Patent number: 7397783
Abstract: In a code division multiple access transmission system (CDMA), codes are generated according to a tree structure organized on a plurality of layers. Each re-allocation is considered as an access request to the system by a new user and the re-allocation codes are transmitted to each involved user through the respective re-allocation messages. Re-allocation messages to users having the same spreading factor (SF), and hence the same service bit-rate (kR) are substantially sent simultaneously, in order to reduce to a minimum the time required for the re-allocation operation.

  • Patent number: 7263471
Abstract: The behavior of a network for mobile ratio apparatuses is simulated in a work station having a data input capable of inserting data representative of a network scenario, a data output capable of making available data representative of results of the simulation of the network, and a simulation environment associated with the computer and capable of simulating the network on the basis of the network scenario and of generating and sending to the data outputs the data representative of the results. This environment has first objects representative of devices and/or physical elements belonging to the network to be simulated and second objects representative of processing modules separate from the first objects and capable of conditioning and activating the first objects on the basis of the network scenario to simulate the network.

  • Publication number: 20040172231
Abstract: The present invention is related to a system for simulating the behaviour of a telecommunications network for mobile radio apparatuses and to the relating method. The system comprises an integrated simulation environment (30) having a modular structure based on interchangeable objects, that comprise a simulation engine (31) and a plurality of devices (34) representative of apparatuses as well as physical elements of the network. By virtue of its structure based on objects which are interchangeable and capable of being selectively activated, the system allows the simulation of networks for high complexity mobile radio apparatuses in terms of quantity of apparatuses and type of systems or networks. The system is easily expansible as a function of both the variation of the system or network types and the technological implementations available on the market.
